    Default TATW 3.0. Progress Report?

    This is not one those "When is version 3.0 coming out?" thread as I think TATW 3.0 is really not ready yet.

    What I would like to know is how much of version 3.0 is already finished or finalized(so far as of today)? Please answer in percentage like for example 70% of 3.0 is finished, or something like that.

    Next I want to know a well detailed description and information about all factions in TATW 3.0 .
    What changes are going to be made in each faction in 3.0? Will there be new regular units for each faction? mercenaries/AoR units available for a specific faction? stat changes or remodeling of old units?
    I want to know the unit list for each faction in 3.0 like that of the elven redevelopment thread.

    I already have an idea about the high elves and silvan elves in the Elven redevelopment thread and the new units are awesome imo.

    Will there be new factions?

    What are the changes in 3.0 from 2.1? New campaign?

    I think Kingkong should make like a "progress report or sticky" from time to time.

    No-one really knows this besides the team members, all this has been asked sooooo many times and theres a reason why those questions have'nt been answered. Also, not be mean but your post came off as rude and demanding.

    I apologize sincerely I didn't mean anything by posting this and I didn't realize that it sounded rude and demanding. I m only asking because my curiosity is starting to get to me and 2.1 can't satisfy me anymore.

    But I think thay should at least answer the 1st question like how many percentage of 3.0 is finished.

    Men I feel so terrible now.

    I think that's a bit harsh. Given how long we've been waiting for 3.0, it's only natural that the community wants to know more of what's been going on, especially since we haven't had an update from the team in quite a while. King Kong hasn't even posted in the Third Age sub-forum since early June.

    Now, I think I can address the basics of what you were asking in the first post. Here's a list of what we either know or can reasonably assume will be in 3.0.

    I'm sure we've all memorized the list by now, but here's a run-down off all the settlements that we currently know of. So far, we've seen Minas Tirith, Edoras, Helms Deep, Isengard, Moria, Dol Guldur, Minas Morgul, The Black Gate, and Rivendell. We've also seen a generic Elven large city and an Orcish village and town. Presumably, all city levels will be complete by the time 3.0 rolls around.

    Previewed only on ModDB, King Kong showed new horses for Gondor, Rohan and Harad last November. As far as I'm aware, they were based of the Marka horses from Ruschi Total War, and I think it's reasonable to assume that all other horses have since been reworked as well.

    I'm sure you've been following the project on your own, but Louis Lux and I plan to have the High Elves completely reworked by the time 3.0 is ready so that they can be included. You can find out more about that...here.

    King Kong personally informed me that the visual armor upgrade that I compiled for the Rhun Clansmen is going to be included in 3.0. You can find the thread here.

    Presumably, all of the heroes made by Louis Lux in his Heroes Mod will be included, except perhaps the Saruman model made by Soul_Reapir, Killerbee, Louis Lux and myself. Here's the thread.

    Though this is certainly not confirmed, there's a solid chance that the Dundedain Bestslayers, and armor piercing archer unit for Arnor made by Louis Lux and myself will be included. There are no guarantees about that though, as this is entirely my own speculation. You can learn more about them here.

    I think there's also a pretty solid chance of the spiders made by Alreadyded and Louis Lux being included. You can find more on them here.

    There are certainly more things that are going to be included than what I've listed here. Germanicu5's latest battle AI gets included every time, and I'm sure we'll be sing the inclusion of recent enhancements such as the water texture overhaul and a mod I saw that overhauled climate regions. Louis Lux's Visual Enhancement submod also tends to make it in in some form or another.

    What I can confirm does not currently exist is a reworked Gondorian Captain model, so those of us who have been hoping that King Kong simply forgot to put in in 1.4 can finally face our disappointment.

    Regarding an estimated time of release, we have very little to go on other than wild speculation, but here's King Kong's post in the 3.0 discussion thread:

    Devil's Advocate hinted at an anticipated end of October release in the Elven Redevelopment thread, which seems a bit more realistic to me.

    Well a little more information on progress would be indeed very nice. I never liked the no information politics people love to play. It has something to do with respect to the loyal fanbase..

    Try some sub-mods there are some great ones out there namely: FRoME, MOS, VOA, DAC, etc. But those seem to be the main ones. MOS also has elements of RR/RC in it now as well Not really sure about the other ones as I ONLY use MOS but the others have had a ton of hard work put into them to.

    Thanks for posting. Even if there is some uncertainty as to what will be included in the actual release it's nice to have an idea of what is and is not being considered.

    you know iv been discussing things with a guy who created this skin buildings mod for the Call of warhammer mod and he's thinking that maybe he could do the same for third age if he can make time, if he does it'll probs give kk team more time, what you guys think?http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=384851 here is his mod ; )

    Can't hope for much better than what Yarrum posted.

    I know that KK is still working on new custom settlements (and probably D_A as well). I doubt there will be many new features aside from that.

    There might indeed be even the one or the other custom settlement more...

    Besides that, there is a bunch more features for 3.0. The campaign map is totally overhauled in matter of textures and will be a bit more realistically shaped. I have already created a bunch of new strat map models (Gondor, watchtowers and unique places) and some new units (siege stuff) respectively bad units will be replaced with new ones. The gameplay is also going to be improved by KK (and God thanks G5 for his AI overhaul). Maybe someone also gets around to implement tones vegetation pack into TATW, it would be possible now, but a lot of work though.
    Beneath what Yarrum posted there might be some more minor things I guess, but yet KK might not even be able to tell...

    The earliest possible release date is early October. KK´s estimation once, was just a bit too optimistic.
