Default The hit that kills but misses

As the title says, the hit that kills but misses is something I have noticed in M2TW. If you don't know what I mean, it is when there is a massive melee fight and the soldier is 5+ feet away from it's target and simply still kills him. Also the animation kills. When a swordsman does an anim like when he steps on his victims head and stabs him in the back. He is so far away from his victim.

It beats the pesky 1h-sword swing that hits but does no harm.

Animations and hitboxes are not the same thing.

I find those kill animations marvelous!
Yes, the soldiers happen to be at a ridiculous distance from each other, but if you use your imagination to "fill in the gap", it´s great.
I bet it´s not easy making those animations, or implementing them into the game.

The billmen animations have me in tears sometimes. Wobble about...swipe..miss...get killed.

    Pretend they're Gundams fighting.

Mods fix this. Either they lengthen the weapon(has no effect on the stats) or they go thru changing the animations. Beats the solely animation driven empire napolean and shogun in my opinion. Those do get rather tiresome.

yeah, it's annoying for me too, I wonder why they look so damn good in the vids (like intro etc.)

Because there, they are recorded from the right angle.
If you look at all these ludicrous animations from just the right angle, they look perfectly realistic.
But in all other angles, no.

Well sometimes they hit, sometimes not. It depends on the animation and distance and well, it may be just a matter of luck.

I don't really mind. I was just wondering. Also in the trailers, they look so realistic and make them look like they actually hit each other is because of the cinematic editor (well, at least thats what I know of).BTW favourite anims are the 1 hand sword ones.

Billmen should've gone to Ye Olde Specsayvers. There's an enemy guy right in front of them and they miss!!

    Shocker.
