Mouse won't move on Campaign map

I can boot the game, start a new Rome Campaign using the Alexander .exe, and when I get to the campaign map to start my opening moves, the mouse won't move. I can scroll the screen with the 1,2,3, and 5 buttons on the NumPad, and I can click and double click with my mouse. It just won't move.

Any suggestions?

Also, in case it wasn't obvious in the first post... the mouse works fine on the main game menu and settings, right up until I'm actually in a new game. I've tried running Rome: BI vanilla and it works fine, but with RS2 the mouse is locked in the middle of the screen.

Update:

I load Rome: TW Gold edition (without BI/Alex/RS2) and I have the exact same problem.

Try another mouse. I had a problem with a logitech wireless mouse with MTW2. Try a wired one if you have one available.

I'm using a wired mouse. A Kensington Optical Elite with updated drivers.

Number of things could be causing this. Mainly I think it is a corrupted mouse driver issue. IT could have got corrupted, change it see if that works.

Second this might sound odd but it could be a video card issue. I have seen in the past that when a mouse starts acting weird in a video game some of the time it is the video card drivers that are effecting it. Remember the video card has to display the mouse cursor as well as the cursor in the game so there is a connection.
