I have been using nvida cards for the last 6 years. I recently build a new computer and put a sapphire 5870 (1 Gb version) in.

I recently noticed that when playing DX11 games the card will crash showing usually brown vertical lines. I know it is the card because if i tap the power button the card then resets and shows the computer going through shut down. I have noticed that the screen will "shudder" before the card crashes, and if I ctr+alt+del to task manager the crash can some times be averted (the lines will show but task manger will still come up, this does not always work).

I have found an issue that I cannot update two of the drivers for the card catalysis it self can update, but the sound driver and one other will report that an error occur (though no information as to what) and those two specific drivers failed to update.

RAM: 4 GB of Gskill pi series @ 1800 Mhz
hdd: three 1TB WD Caviar black
