    An allied Celtiberian army appears consisting of 1,000 cavalry, 10,000 levy troops and 5,000 regular infantry.

    (If nobody wants to RP this army for the Roman side they will be given to Fortes to control)

    The leader of the Celts, Warlord Geriatrix, thanks the Centurion, then orders his men, after a brief rest, to move out. They quickly catch up with the Pro-Consul.

    ooc: ok, great. MuttonChops will be modding the battles, Aetius is in control of the Lusitanians, Ulti's got the Celtiberians and Foretes controls the Romans. MuttonChops will be posting what the battlefield looks like shortly and in the meantime it would behoove the leaders of the Romans and Celtiberians to discuss strategy.

    Senator Flavius, with his 500 clavarymen, spots his kinsmen Geriatrix, and says in Arevaci

    War-chief, tis good to see you, I have returned from rome and have raised 500 calvary to aid in our defeat of these Lustones. I can work as a mediator between you and the romans and as your spokesmen in the senate so you are not trod upon like some of the other allies of rome

    OOC:My char senator flavius' family settled in spain in the late 3rd century and married into the local nobility. Through his mothers line and his fathers grandmothers line he is married into the celt-iberian nobilty so he speaks most of the iberian language and chances are is related to or at least knows of the celt-iberian warlord

    Battle of Alanis
    -Deployment Stage-

    Green with care, the hills and forests of Spain welcomed the Romans with a silent gaze. Its trees wavered at the strong western breeze that came, the clouds darkened, and many guessed that the weather was bound to worsen. Already clouds of a foreboding nature crept across the horizon, blanketing the field with unnatural ease. The battle it seems would be drenched in rain and blood.

    Though the battle have yet to begin, already hostile eyes peeked from trees, their grey sights watched the invaders with careful yet reserved awe. But the sound of hurried boots soon drove them back. And with their allies in tow, the Romans continued along the dirt path from Carthago Nova towards a nearby village of Alanis where the enemy had been sighted. But from a top a hill, the sight of battle appeared. Men clad in fur and ring mail appeared to watch their gathering foe. On hand are the weapons of their ancestors, sword and spears were raised. And as thunder struck, both armies watched the other, the Spanish from the hill had the advantage while the Romans strained their necks at the sight of enemy banners above their heads.`

    Flavius meets with the legate and Gallic warcheif and says

    If we attack them frontally now it will be suicide, I suggest we have our missile troops and some skirmishers advance and pin the lustones in place while I can lead calvary around the flanks and possibly to the rear to see the extent of the lusotone postion and any routes of escape. Once I get in position can signal and I can attack from the flanks and rear while the main force can attack up the hill under the cover of missle troops and the flanking attack.

    Perhaps we can use of of the lighter celt-iberian infantry for this flanking attack

    What do you think of this plan

    Warlord Audax of Lusitania scanned the field of battle, displeased that the weak Celtibri sank so low as to plead for Roman aid.

    He organized a council of his cheiftans to deliberate on their next move;

    "We hold the highground warlord, we should wait for them to muster an assualt."

    Another cheiftan disagreed;

    "We should seize the advantage, order an all out charge and scatter them!"

    An older cheiftan who had seen the might of Roman warfare before was more reserved;

    "The Celtibri would rout against our warriors, but The Romans are disciplined. They will not break so easily, perhaps we should send a delegation to them and earn a favorable treaty. For even if Rome loses this battle, they have many legions, vast wealth and power."

    Audax took their opinions and considered the consequences.

    OOC: Okay, thanks.

    The encounter was fast, Scipio didn't had the time to share his strategy with his allies and that is highly prejudicial, however Scipio is a skilled man and has already fought various battles during his military career in Greece,

    He orders his missile units to shot as many rounds as possible,

    Chief Geriatrix the terrain is favorable to the enemy, order the infantry to march this hill up would infect us a large number of casualties, yet the weather will give us a advantage, my suggestion is the follow, we need to surround the enemy, order your cavalry to march to the top of the hill by the flanks, the trees and the weather will cover you, the Roman Legions will still down here distracting them, regular in the front, levy in the back. Once your cavalry get to the top send them all to attack the enemy by the rear, when they notice the presence of your troops it will be to late for them, I'll have my Legions marching the hill by then. Senator Flavius keep your men down here, if we take all the cavalry the enemy will notice it, once Geriatrix's cavalry arrives at the hill top have your cavalry attacking the enemy by the flanks, left and right, regular infantry will cover the front while the levy try to flank if the opportunity arises. Remember nothing of heroic movements.

    OOC: Ops seems I lost a few of posts :/
