    Default Losing Money Need Help

Ive been playing on the stainless steel mod and ive been playin as egypt (whatever there actually name is, i cant remeber) and im currently not at war so i have been focusing on my economy. I have been building markets and so forth and i was making tons of money to i was upgradin my towns in all areas, i was still making good money. Around 100,000 i was prompted to spend 5000 to get rid of pirates and i declined. idk its bc of that but soon after i have been losing tons of money. my financial projections will say that i will gain 9000 or so but by the next turn i have lost money instead of gained. help please!!!!

dude disband units that u dont need, when u enter a economi crisis if u arent at war disband the units that are in the heart of your empire(i guess)such as castle troops(or saracen militia). to garrison a settlement that isnt in the front line use spear militia, and dont spend money on pirates, unless thay are constantly blokading u or attacking crucial ships that have troops

It may be because new construction has started, and thatīs why you seem to be loosing money - check your settlementsī building queues if there any new, expensive contruction that have just begun.

Or maybe you have too many soldiers - see if you donīt have a unit too many here and there, and if you canīt manage without them, and disband the needless troops.

Or maybe you just need to construct more economic buildings - see if you donīt have any non-economic building projects going on, and replace them with with something that better serves your financial interests.

Thatīs what I can think of, but I donīt play stainless steel, so there could very well be something Iīm missing.

I have tried to disband some of my troops. which i dont keep many just enough to keep from being taken by the simple army but it still is takin a huge chunck of my money. since my money has ran to the hundreds. i could no longer build things and i began to notice that i am gainin money but only about a thousand at a time but my financial projections are at 15000. could it be a bug?

Sounds like you've got a bunch of queued constructions. They don't tend to show up in the projections because the money is spent at the start of the turn (your projection says 15000, end turn-> a building finishes and the next one is paid for-> you only see 10000 profit (5000 building)). If it's this, the missing money will be in the construction section of the finance panel in the turn after.

The pirates steal money from you. And if you are playing 6.1 they will never stop. The correct answer to the pirate event is yes and pay to hunt them down.

That's a scripted event, and it is bugged in 6.1. Still waiting for you to confirm your version as 6.1... or whatever

I think I have same problem that this guy had. Playing with 6.4 TO VH without BGR and in financial overview it said last turn that I had profits of 7000 and I should have money in current turn little more than 7000. Now in current turn I have -1612. I check the financial overview again and I have profits of 7000 and I should have 5500 next turn. Before last turn same thing happened also.

I didn't start to build new buildings. I myself manage all cities. No pirates had shown up. This happened before too and I was down like -4000 but got a way from it with sacking Novgorod.

Maybe there is bug with vassals because I was vassal of Novgorod and Lithuania was vassal of me. It didn't make a difference in my economy in that current time but after I broke up with Novgorod and Lithuania broke up with me little time later the problem started.

In BGR you have extra costs when recruiting and due to family members and whatnot. Those won't show up in the financial overview. Check the BGR topic for further information.

    Some basics to check over:-
Income plusses are;- economic buildings (markets, ports, roads, population), merchants, trade agreements. Governors.
Income minuses;- devastation (from having cities beseiged), 'pirates' event (always say yes and pay), rebels present in your regions (can have a major effect), cities besieged. ports blockaded, Governors, corruption.

Obviously the quantities of troops in play - mercenaries are expensive as are excess garrisons (those over the free upkeep units). Also armies on crusade/jihad are maintenance free but when those end they become a cost again.

Check over the above in your campaign and stand down where you can, only build economic or corruption reducing buildings where needed. Population growth is your main income earner in the long run.

As you see I don't need any economy advice. I already said that I make 7000 profit per turn. The problem is that money is disappearing. All of those you listed (except probably pirates and if you lay siege and general get -150 trait) occurs in financial overview.

Thought are there any other costs than those which I already mentioned that don't appear on financial overview?

When I am in financial trouble, I usually call a crusade/jihad into a bigger empire, this allows me to have free upkeep of a good army
When I finish the crusade i go raiding, raiding is when you take a settlement, sack it, destroy every building in it (for money) and then leave it completely or sell it for a little extra cash, then move the army to another settlement and repeat the process till your army dies out
it brings a lot of money
