Default Question about editing files to give factions structures they couldn't normally get

I'd like to give the Goths/Ostrogoths the ability to build stone walls, but I'm not sure which faction type they are associated with. It seems they aren't part of the Barbarian category. Nomads perhaps? Unfortunately I'm pretty sure Nomad factions cannot build stone walls, so they may not have a graphics design to represent this structure. I need to know if it is possible to make this modification without a whole lot of work needing to be done.

    this might help: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13734

basically you open up EDB and scroll down to stone walls and add (ostro)goths to the stone wall catagory... also you might want to check that the UI/Barbarian/Buildings (or something) has a picture for stone walls... i heard BI won't start up without a picture... just copy one of the other stone walls and give it the same name as the huns/nomads have...

    hope i could help

Problem solved. It was a simple matter really. Turns out I was editing the wrong file. All I had to do was change one word in the descr_sm_factions file. The Goths are indeed considered a "Nomad" faction. All I had to do was change the culture type from "nomad" to "barbarian". Conveniently, it then defaults to using the barbarian stone wall design. Now if I wanted to make large and epic stone walls with the Goths...that might be a bit more difficult. I don't intend to do that though.

    Sorry for the duplicate threads.
