Battle crash

Hello, I recently got a new computer with Nvidia optimus, and I heard rumors that this will cause my Napoleon total war battles to crash at the loading screen. Indeed it is true. Whenever I start a custom battle the game would crash. I was told I need to change my GPU from 0 to something else. Could someone who have this problem, or heard of it, help me please?

Update the RealTek High Definition Audio codecs at www.realtek.com.tw.

I'm pretty sure my Laptop can handle the game cause I can play Shogun 2 on highest with no lag unless there's like 2000 men....

Well, my "old" rig can handle Shogun2 better than Empire, too, believe it or not.

Open Nvidia Control Panel, click Manage 3d Settings, click Program Settings.

Hmm....I see all the RTW stuff, all the M2TW stuff, and S2TW but not Napoleon :O how do I fix it!!!
Other people are having this problem too I think. I read several cases of this Problem. Several people attributed it to Nvidia Optimus does not recongnize NTW so let the Intel graphic card handle it which can’t run the game. I mean I’m pretty sure my Laptop can run NTW….Nvidia technology is supposed to be really good right? And I shall try updating my realtech thingy….

Well, as I have said before (and will again), the 520M can play NTW quite decently, but dont expect wonders. My old GT 330M can run NTW decently on low/medium with Huge unit size.
But, taking a look at your dxdiag I noticed that it is not your 520M that is displayed as your main GPU, but the integrated one. Change the computer-status to "performance mode" so that the 520M takes over (done in the Nvidia Panel). That should change the quality of the game performance quite alot (but it also kills the lifetime of a recharge, so only play when plugged in).
And your question above: Use the "Add" buttom. Browse trough your computer to find NTW and add it. That simple.

See the picture you uploaded.
1) Select a program to customize: Use the "Add" buttom. Browse trough your computer to find NTW.exe and add it. That simple.
2) Select the preferred graphics processor for this program: Find the Nvidia 520M.
3.1) Then, in the scroll menu, find Power Management Mode (is that what it is called? I can not remember the English translation)... 'Prefer Maximum Performance'

My surmising is correct, the 520m is not up to your expectations.

I am Pretty sure my computer can run it though……according to the Can you run it site my CPU exceeds minimum requirments and even beyond the recommended settings…..also I could run Empire and Shogun on best setting. Of course I’m not sure but what really make be believe I can run it is I use to have a computer that can only run empire and Napoleon on medium settings, but my current computer can run Empire on best so it doesn’t make sense that it can’t run Napoleon at all now…..thx for the help though! Just have to wait to see if morten jessen have anything more to say

I was aware of the specs being up to it. I am very sorry to hear that it seems to be not the case for you. I do how ever have a few things left to try.
1) http://www.geforce.com/Drivers/Results/35123 Newest drivers. Be very sure that you also installs the PhysX system software too (they come with the pack, so by default they should install with out further notice)
2) As I said, it can run NTW, but not on too high settings, and with out much of the eyecandy. You should be able to handle some all-medium, with AA x 2 and bilinar texture filtering. If you wants Huge Unit Size, forget about Depth of Field, SSAO, Distortion Effects, Hardware Shadow and Volumetric Effects (all the eyecandy).
