Generals & Autoresolving
Hi, I decieded to play an "autoresolve" campaing in order to make it "fair" battling with the AIs, but I noticed that is kind of difficult to make your generals improve.
Getting +comand traits is almoast impossible, so the best chance to have a good general is make him command a crusade, or directly stole it from other faction.
Is there anything I can do, or is just that difficult?

Collect good ancillaries. There are several that give command bonus and a few with +authority as well. When you build military academy its easier to collect them but even early in a campaign you should be able to get some. Getting good traits without winning alot of heroic victories is nearly impossible. You'll get some over the years but not nearly as many as if you manually fought the battles.

Re: Generals & Autoresolving
If I have a general in an army I NEVER autoresolve, because they nearly always (something like 90% of the time) get the "severely wounded"-trait, which is annoying as hell. The AI generals apparently just throw themselves in front of the crossbow bolts as soon as I'm looking the other way.
As for fairness I doon't have trouble whooping the AI in battle, as long as they have their perks (easier recruitment, cities growing faster, better merchants, fewer rebellions and heretics etc.)

You could 'train' your generals against rebels. They don't really count as a faction so it won't be 'unfair' according to your rules. I always use rebels to gain 3-4 stars for my young generals.
