Help needed: not able to play IB: SAI
Dear all,
I hope someone can help me with a very annoying problem. I've downloaded a few mods that worked fine before discovering IB: SAI. A friend of mine recommended it to me. I've downloaded it and followed the install-instructions in the main thread carefully. Everything seemed to go perfectly well but then...horror. After I installed the mod without any problems I double-clicked on the IB: SAI icon on my desktop, the game started, the intromovie played but when I reached the loading-screen to get to the main menu the game crashed and I was back at my desktop. No error message, no sounds. I've tried again several times, reinstalled, downloaded all the files again. Nothing works. No matter what I try, the game crashes when reaching the loading-screen after the intromovie. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or what the problem is. I hope someone can help me. I've searched the forum for other people having the same problems but I didn't find anything. All the other encountered issues are different from mine. I'm sorry if I cause any inconvenience with this topic. I just want some help
All the information that you might need to tackle the problem:
I play the Rome: Total War Gold Edition. The BI add-on is patched to 1.6.
My main R:TW-folder is in D:\Software\The Creative Assembly - Rome. Because I play a lot of mods I've created several copies of this folder to make sure I always have one unmodded 'clean' folder available for each one of them. In one of the copied folders I tried to install IB: SAI. This folder is called D:\Software\The Creative Assembly - Rome - kopie.
I've downloaded all three IB: SAI-files to the folder mentioned above and saved them there.
I've ran all three installations (parts I, II and III) and directed the files to be installed into the intended
folder: D:\Software\The Creative Assembly - Rome - kopie.
After the succesful installations I checked wether the shortcut on my desktop was directed towards the mentioned folder. It was directed to D:\Software\The Creative Assembly - Rome - kopie. That was perfectly alright.
I tried to run IB: SAI but after reaching the loading-screen after the intromovie the games crashes.
As mentioned before I've tried to redownload and reinstall the game a couple of times but that made no difference.
I hope there are some clever brains to help me. I'm pretty sure I'm doing something terribly wrong because with a lot of other people this magnificent mod works fine. I really want to be part of 'those' people...
Adiuvate me, commilitiones.
Vale et pax vobiscum,
LaSalle

Re: Help needed: not able to play IB: SAI
Hi
I have similar problem couple months ago and the reason was Europa Barbarorum, that makes conflict with SAI. I dont know why, becouse SAI is fully modfoldered, but it was a fact. But you wrote, that you have clean copy of RTW without any mods. Seems that you did everything correctly. Maybe it is stupid, but try name your copied folder Rome-Total War (without kopie - as I did and the mod is working) and try to install whole SAi again.
