Is there a mod for 1.5 like this?
Hi guys, I'm wondering if there's a mod having all or most of the following features, but which doesn't significantly alter the vanilla 1.5 game. I've been playing RTR for a long time but now I'm looking for something a bit less radical, as RTR seems to decrease the game engine performance.
- united Rome (although I'd still settle for the 3 families)
- remove fantasy/unrealistic units (e.g. screeching women, war dogs, arcani, head hurlers, druids etc.)
- remove peasants and gladiators
- better skins for Triarii and Principes to distinguish them better from Hastari - but which don't slow the engine down
- battle balancing - better balance for infantry vs. cav and better balancing of missile damage
- longer battles because mental stats (= morale) of units has been tweaked
- battle speed slowed down - units no longer sprint like Carl Lewis
- historical rough edges like Egypt > Ptolomaic Empire and Spain/Spanish > Iberia/Iberians fixed
- Britons start in Britannia only! (Briton faction in Europe stops Gauls and Germans expanding properly)
- you cannot immediately build your own troops in captured enemy barracks (rather ridiculous) - e.g. you have to knock them down and build your own buildings and it takes some upgrades before you can recruit your own troops (rather like RTR's AoR system)
- multi-hit points are removed except for general's unit (no more supermen Spartans and hypaspists) - the elite units are simply distinguished with better attack, defence and mental stats, as well as better equipment
- squalor is tweaked so it increases more slowly
- the mod does *not* alter the original music, voices or sound effects
- a larger campaign map (optional)
If I had to pick just a few of the above features, they would be remove fantasy units, battle balancing, remove multiple hit points, more realistic recruitment for captured settlements, Britons in Britannia, squalor improvement and longer battles from higher morale.
Thanks for any pointers!
Cheers, Germanicus91

i agree with Maron, Spqr 6.1 will be a fine choice but there are a few points that do not match your specs but as whole its a good choice spqr is.

My mod Terrae Expugnandae does quite a few of the things you want done, but does not include an AoR. You get a larger ap if you play the provincila campaign in my mod.
