Save some money and get a Intel Core i5 2500k instead and maybe swap out the 2x 6870's and get 1 2Gb 6950 instead and use some of the money saved and get a 40Gb SSD and set it up with SRT for your main hard drive. This way your computer uses your SSD as a giant cache where it learns which files you access often and it loads them to the SSD where they can be accessed quickly for better performance.

hmmm, interesting. According to the benchmarks I've seen, 2x 6870s would easily out perform a 6970, and even give a 580 a easy run for its money. Please show me else wise.

As for the i5 2500k, what performance difference are their between the i7 and the i5, I never thought they were much. I would defiantly overclock btw.

for gaming i5 2500k and i7 2600k are identicle,

greater chance of the i5 2500k overclocking further then the 2600k due to hyperthreading causing alot more heat 5ghz on AIR is actually attainable on a 2500k but its extremely rare
