    Default seleucid tips?

    Hey guys!

So i'm a first time EB player and start a campaign as seleucid. I got basicly rolled back so far that i just got frustrated and decided to start a new campaign with them agian. so, it has been about a year and a half and ive retreated from all the rebelling provinces on the north east side and now im fending off the pahlavans on that side. My problem is it seems i can't seem to get my economy up enough to support a conquerring army and can just keep enough troops to repel pah/baktria/ptol. could you expierenced rulers give me some tips and tricks for them? please and thank you ( p.s. i don't want to play as another faction because seleucids are by far my favorite from RTW and i'm playing on VH/M)

For a first timer, try playing Rome or Carthage. They are economically and militarily speaking the easiest factions. Also, use M/M difficulty. You can always come back to the Seleucids, after you've learned the basics of EB. It is not something you learn overnight, trust me.

At the bottom of the stickied threads in this forum you have a 'Gameplay guides' thread. Try clicking it and finding info about Seleucids. You could also try using 'search' option on this forum, finding threads other have left behind.

Myself, I didn't play the Seleucids yet. I've tried most other civilizations. It's like I'm saying them for a special ocassion.

Thank you very much! but i did try a little romani but they just don't seem much of a challange because principes just eat up the enemy units (mostly because enemys build levies or other very bad troops around there and you can afford about 100000 principes once you get into carthage area) and i play on VH cause mid game i do want the enemy sneding stack after stack at me but im just having trouble getting started and also hax's guide was very helpful thanks

Try using historical armies. If you need a challenge, try playing some eastern factions or the barbarians.

Move your capital to Seleukea first. It helps a lot to keep eastern regions from rebelling againts you, and increases your income (+2000 mnai).
Get your troops out of Marakanda and the neighboring region (dont remember the name, something like "Alexandreia-Eschalate"), dont bother keeping them. Destroy all buildings in these towns, it will give you some money.
Disband most units in regions not bordering other factions, but make sure they dont rebel against you.
If you do it all in the first turn, it will help you save some money.
