    I just confirmed that the "movie_banner.pack" from Ftmch's "Clan Retexture Project" will be incompatible. What has happened is that "movie_banner.pack" has loaded over the top of my mod, causing the Anegakoji crest to show up on the sashimono. You'd also notice a lot of the same thing, with some of the sashimono colours seeming a bit odd and incorrect crests showing up on the sashimono's.

    ok, i can enjoy your mod fully now! Yes, it's because of the movie_banner.pack file.. I dont know where i get that file from. To tell you the truth, i just began to start playing STW2 after 2 month of playing paradox games. And it was your mod and all faction playable mod that make me to come back playing STW2. And because of that i lost track of mods that i have installed to my STW2.

    So, thank you so much and sorry to disturb you with my stupidity

    A quick post.

    So, as I should have theorized, having a higher resolution reduced to a lower one will not let me see the extend of its quality. However! The crest looks significantly better, provided you focus on them. For example:


    Be sure to note that some of the compression artifacts found on the image is because of the jpg compression, but it does make the point.

    I increased the resolution of the banner atlas to 4096x4096, making it a 10.6MB file instead of 683KB. So, applying this to all the banner files without making further changes bears no fruit. So, I will start with my first custom banner. This will increase the quality of the Sanada, Akechi, Shiina, Red Devils and Suwa crests on the banners. In future editions, I might cover previously made banners.

    I have been messing around with clan descriptions in custom battles. Each clan looks very bare under "clan traits". Of course, it may be a nice bit of polish to rename that to "clan information" or something, but you get the point.

    Anyway, I have written three bits of information for the clans I have made changes to thus far. Here are the bits:

    The Red Devils
    The Red Devils refers to the forces commanded by the general Ii Naomasa under Imagawa Yoshimoto, and later Tokugawa Ieyasu. Naomasa was well-known for using red-dressed soldiers for a negative psychological impact on the enemy.
    The Suwa-shi
    The Suwa clan, during the Sengoku period, were enemies with the Takeda. Shingen's triumph over them at Kuwabara forced them into vassalage to the Takeda. After Sekigahara, they ruled the Suwa domain with the daimyo status.
    The Shiina-shi
    The Shiina-shi were a clan of Etchu province. They allied with the Uesugi against the Jinbo, with whom they clashed on numerous occasions, the most prominent of which being the Battle of Imizu.
    It's a neat little way of adding more to the game. Now, I don't believe anything I have said to be wrong, but I'm happy for anyone to make any clarifications regarding facts or my hypothetically horrible wording. I'm not sure how much time I'll be putting in to this before the big patch. I'll basically stop making any additions as soon as the patch is released, with the remaining changes being that of compatibility. Naturally, input is awesome!

    sadly i remove all mod except your mod and test in custom battle , but i don't see morale bug but before intant your mod i don't see morale bug with darthmod and radious mod this bug only appear after use your mod i forgot tell you i 'm playing Date campain before intant your mod ( domination camp , normal difficult ) , may i need start a new camp to fix this bug

    The thing is this mod does not add information that would make a game crash, whether you are continuing from a vanilla game or continuing from a game that has used this mod. As I believe you just noted, it doesn't cause the morale bug.

    Also, do note darthmod and radious' mods are primarily stat mods, meaning they would most likely conflict. I'm not necessarily talking about crashes, but rather conflicting entries that give the game an odd 'mix and match' setup.

    I know it seems easy to blame my mod, but please understand I am acquainted with a morale bug you previously described and my overhaul mod, in its present state, would not create that bug.

    Are you, by chance, using a fully patched game? Are the only mods in your data file those of DarthMod, Radious' Mods and my own overhaul?

    BTW, this is incompatible with Radious' and Anton's Recolour Mod. Have a look at the original post for a small list of compatibilities and incompatibilities.

    i buy game from steam and of couse it fully patch i use two file Anton's Banner, Visual and Clan-swapping Overhaul [v1.6].pack and Anton's Banner, Visual and Clan-swapping Overhaul - Unit Type Icons and Borders Fix.pack with radios unit , darth mod 2.8 i forgot tell you some unit card change to black in camp map and in battle. morale bug make game very very hard you know . uhm i will remove your mod and continue play camp , and we will see this bug will stay or gone . thank you and sorry for blame your mod too soon

    With the unit cards, is the black you see behind the depictions of the soldiers or does the black completely cover where the depiction of the soldier should be?

    I would also go so far to suspect Radious' units mod, considering that I came across the morale bug whilst creating a custom unit.

    Keep in mind that I'm very happy to help you even if the problem doesn't seem to be coming from my overhaul!


    Edit: Ok. Just noticed the screenshot, and may I say: holy crap! Very cool!

    The units pack is making use of my black backgrounds for the bow and yari ashigaru units. The game is simply overwriting that black unit card background for the other unit cards you see!

    you see ashigaru and bow ashigaru card are black in map camp , and kisho ninja + fire bomp thrower card are black too

    With RotS and the big patch less than 2 days (I figure) away, I am finalizing my update. The new additions are as follows:
    -Compatibility changes for the 2011/27/9 patch (assuming they are needed).
    -Two new clans for custom battles: The Red Devils and the Suwa clan. This covers banners, crests, and soldier colours.
    -The standard rebels have been further changed to cover crests (the old Ashikaga crests) and re-colourings. As of v1.7, there are no more horrid grey rebels! Huzzah!
    -A generals unit set for custom battles. This adds 10 generals spanning the Ashikaga, Ishida, Kobayakawa, Ogigayatsu, Hojo, Nagao, Takeda and Imagawa clans. They are vanilla units, but were not accessible in custom battles... until now.
    -The agent icon for the Sanada has been fixed.
    -The Sanada, Akechi, Shiina and Suwa clans, Red Devils and Standard Rebels have higher quality banners. The change may not be noticed all that well, but trust me, it looks much better, especially in the game files!
    -Text descriptions for the Suwa, Shiina and Red Devils covering a fairly simple description.
    -AndyTotalGamer's resource icons added.
    -(An ommition) The more subtle unit card borders for armies and navies have been removed, reverting them to vanilla ones.

    For anyone currently using an older version of my mod, don't worry. You can download this mod, replace it with what ever version of ABVOM you are currently using and continue your campaign. For now, the mod doesn't cripple game saves! Again: huzzah!

    Regarding units, the generals unit set is the spearhead in my move to expand this mod to custom units. I will be adding the Kaihogyo Monks unit in a version following v1.7, as I would like to make sure they are decently balanced before officially adding them to the mod.

    Also, with the high quality banners, applying the changes I did to the aforementioned clans to every other clan might not come in a single update.

    ...and another bit of information. Eventually this mod will become 'v2.0', the connotations of such lead me to snicker. Namely, the v2.0 of numerous IP's provide significantly more content than other updates, so in keeping with the flow of things as I so often do not do I will make sure ABVOM's v2.0 is something users will not forget. Of course, I have no idea what you won't forget yet. Maybe I forgot.

    So, I just made some last minute additions/changes to the mod before I get to appropriate the mod for the new patch. The additional changes include:
    -reverting 'Nanbu Harumasa' back to 'Date Masamune' for the custom battles, and making a change that allows Masamune to be a unique Date general.
    -creating a Nanbu Harumasa general unit for custom battles.
    -a tiny text change, changing 'clan traits' to 'clan information' so the descriptions seem more appropriately placed.

    Expect v1.7 to be uploaded sometime in the next 24 hours (assuming I can use the current PFM build). If I can't, then it will be much longer. I also intend to create a second download page for the basic version of the mod. I'll do that along with all the other things that relate to releasing a new version.

    beside upload to twcenter , you should upload to another host such as megaupload , mediafire . this will make easier to download this great mod
    hey Anton do you know how to add some event to the game , or add some historical general to some clan ? like Oda have Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Kasue Shibata

    Actually, the download page doesn't actually mean the TWC is hosting the mod. It's getting waaaay to big (as you can see ) so the download button on this overhaul's download page links to a multiupload link. The great thing about multiupload is that it uploads the file to multiple hosts, including but not limited to megaupload. Thus, in case one of the hosts screws over my file, there are a few others .

    BTW, the big patch came sooner than I expected, so I should have v1.7 fixed up very, very soon, unless PFM gets screwed over.

    I haven't really looked into events, other than what I did in an earlier version of the Kaihogyo Monks. Historical general can certainly be added. This would be easier in custom battles. You could either get them to be recruitable at some point in the game (limit them to one if you want) or script it in. There might be something on that in the mod workshop tutorials .

    Ok guys. Here it is. Its a pretty big update!

    v1.7 Changelog:
    -Compatibility changes for the September 27th/Rise of the Samurai patch.
    -Two new clans for custom battles: The Red Devils and the Suwa clan. This covers banners, crests, and soldier colours.
    -'Rise of the Samurai' minor clans playable in custom battles.
    -The standard rebels have been further changed to cover crests (the old Ashikaga crests) and re-colourings. As of v1.7, there are no more horrid grey rebels!
    -A generals unit set for custom battles. This adds 10 generals spanning the Ashikaga, Ishida, Kobayakawa, Ogigayatsu, Hojo, Nagao, Takeda and Imagawa clans that were already in the game files, as well as appropriations that allow both Nanbu Harumasa and Date Masamune to be used in custom battles.
