    Two new things to note.

    1. I have been working on a high-resolution Naomasa crest, given that I could only find horrible low-resolution versions. I will do the same for that square crest (I'll be sure to find the name of both crests so I can stop saying 'square' ). Note: this is just a simple black version with a reduced resolution (considering the original I made was something like 1400x1400).
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    2. 'AndyTotalGamer' released a cool mod yesterday that changes the agent icons that appear above the army banner when a particular agent is garrisoned in that army. Please have a look here. He graciously allowed me to use this in version 1.6 and onwards. Be sure to check out his original mod and, if you like it, rep him for it .

Ok guys. Screw the wait. I am itching to release v1.6 and I'm happy with the amount of additions it brings. I'll just update it again after the 27th/28th patch if anything gets broken.

This update is definitely banner-heavy, unlike some of my recent ones. The contents for v1.6 are as follows:
-Three new campaign clans: the Sanada, Akechi and Shiina clans. All clan changes include a new banner, new crests, soldier colouring and text-based changes (text changes include replacing the names of the clan, starting daimyo and, if they are a major clan, any/all clan-specific units and text changes in the clan selection menu.
-A visual overhaul of the Ukita faction. I have firstly darkened the banner as per numerous historical sources. The same changes were applied to the numerous crests and I have also recoloured the Ukita soldiers.
-The old Ashikaga banner (red circle, plain background) has been re-purposed into the standard rebels banner.
-Agent icons: appropriate changes have been made to the Shimazu, Kiso, Ikko-ikki, Ukita, Hosokawa, Kuroda, Sanada, Akechi and Shiina clans.
-Previously changed banners' edges have been polished; the Ashikaga banner has been tweaked for visual satisfaction.
-The territorial divisions map (top-hand side on the campaign map UI) uses new colours for some clans: Sakai, Ikko-ikki, Sanada, Akechi, Shiina & Ukita.
-A higher resolution background image for the battle loading screen, which depicts the Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima.
-AndyTotalGamer's 'banner agent icons' mod has been added to this mod (original mod thread here).

I have also created a basic version of the mod. It has all the banner changes and every visual addition that is needed to support those banner changes, but everything else like loading screens, custom historical battle map and so on are omitted. Here is a link to the mod's download page. The main download is for the full version of the mod, while the link in the description box is for the basic version.

I also know many of you will want to have a go at minor clans. Keep the following information in mind:

Now, to the point. Considering the above... keep in mind that using the:
-Urakami pack file will allow you to play as the Ukita clan.
-Mogami pack file will let you play as the Date,
-Hatano pack file will let you play as the Hosokawa,
-Bessho pack file will let you play as the Kuroda.

In version v1.6 of this mod (the banner/visual/clan overhaul mod), the following clans and possibly more should be considered:
-the Saito pack file will let you play as the Akechi,
-the Anegakoji pack file will let you play as the Sanada,
-the Jinbo pack file will let you play as the Shiina.

    No problems, Masked Waltz!

    -------

So, considering I will be busy for most, if not all, of tomorrow and the day following will be partially dedicated to 'Lonesome Roads', I thought I'd get to work on v1.7 tonight. I finished up the two high quality Naomasa crests, and have implimented a 'Red Devils' faction into custom battles (note: they will not appear in the campaign; I simply couldn't justify removing the Tokugawa... sorry!). I liked how I did individual sets of screenshots before, so here are some screenshots:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

V1.7 will be rolled out with AndyTotalGamer's new resource icons as well as compatibility fixes for the upcoming patch. It will have more new content, but I haven't hammered that out yet (after all, I only just started it!).

Hi, thanks for the mod and hard work you put on it!! Now i can play as Sanada and kick Takeda ass!

    EDIT :
Got some problem playing as Sanada, it's appear that the unit's back banner still use Anegakoji symbol. Other than that, it's perfect. For your information, i use Ftmch's retexture mod and i also have try using your All Factions Playable and Incorrect Crest Fix but to no avail.

Dammit. Here I was finally resolved to finish my Takeda campaign Zen mod, and now here I am being sidelined again coz I am just falling in love with the prospects of a Sanada or an Ii and Akechi existing and interacting within the campaign.

Just you wait, I'll download this, play as the Date, nurture the Sanada to proportions that it can own the western half of the Honshu while I rule the eastern half, then we can have an epic contest.

Btw, maybe the Sanada "daimyo" would be better off with a face of a guy with no facial hair and has a hachimaki.............yes porting Sanada Yukimura from basara wielding 2 spears isnt entirely feasible.

(Its clickable by the way....An S2 overhaul mod.)

Seriously. Click it. Its the only overhaul mod that's overhauling enough to bring out NEW clans

Nice job Anton.I haven't downloaded and played version 1.6 and you already started a 1.7.You produce so much content and I still have no time to finish my campaign with the Nanbu(started when you released the version with them in).I have so many new clans to play with and I just don't have time.

That's crazy. No Basara Yukimura?! Next you will be saying a 6-sword Masamune model cannot be ported! Again, crazy!

Regarding the 'daimyo', I noticed he looked odd for Yukitaka. I'll swap him out with a guy with a hachimaki, hopefully for v1.7 .

Don't worry. Just ignore v1.6 for now . Concentrate on your Nanbu playthough, then pick up v1.7 when you're done .

why do you replace Uesughi with Nagao , Date with Nanbu ? what is Nagao ? in history Uesughi Kenshin was a powerful daimyo like Takeda Shingen , and Date clan was powerful so

Read up on your japanese history dude.

Before he was named Uesugi Kenshin he was Nagao Kagetora of the Nagao Clan, he changed his named to "Uesugi Kenshin" when the the Current Uesugi daimyo asked for help against the Hojo, as the Yamanouchi branch family was losing against the Hojo

The Nanbu clan was another clan in the Mutsu Province of Honshu, as there were several clans not included in Shogun 2 map like Asakura, Rokkaku and etc.
I could explain further but it wold become a wall of text ~_~

Busy with college atm so I haven't been able to test it out, but do I need to get Incorrect crest fix even with v 1.6?

Hey anton, great mod so far ^^

just a question, will you add the Tachibana and ryo-whateveritspelt- to kyushu? im guessing that'll be hard. Ito, otomo, shoni and sagara being options to be replaced (when will people learn to edit start provinces and simple take one province from clans with several and give it to a new clan :x) :S

still would be fun to see tachibana

@ Tiger Tank. Keep in mind this game is set well before all the 'good bits' of the Sengoku Jidai, or so would most believe it to be. Regarding Kenshin, I theorize CA used 'Uesugi Kenshin' above the numerous names he had between that and 'Nagao Kagetora' in order to draw as much attention to the game as possible. As you noted, you knew who Kenshin was but didn't recognize the 'Nagao' name. Just a theory, but it seems pretty solid . I'll defer the rest of my response to what MaskedWaltz said after your comment. Oh, and thanks for taking the time to respond!

@ Masked Waltz. Don't worry about the crest fix. You see, in every version of my mod since v1.1 I have had it in the main mod so as to ensure that I could access the minor clans. If you do use it, you will experience compatibility issues similar to what Date-san was dealing with. And I'll suggest to you what I suggested to Date-san, don't worry about v1.6 for now. Bear in mind v1.7 will be rolled out just after the upcoming patch so maybe you should wait for that. After all, you'd have the "awesomeness" (quoting Mozilla) of two lots of updates .

    @Date-san. Thanks for helping, mate!

@zhiphius. Thanks! At the moment, I know of no one that knows how to reduce a clans' holdings to one province in order to add new clans. I have constantly intended to do this myself, but with all my other commitments I just haven't gotten to it. At some point, I'll do it. Promise. Now, you'll note the fact that the 'one clan to a single province' is just utterly annoying when I could throw in hundreds of clans or families that were militarily-inclined. Considering I can't just add a bunch of town-forts into the same province (would be cool, though) my fix for the time being is adding clans for use in custom battles. This is really only for their heraldry, but considering my work with the Red Devils Unit Pack, I might adapt that so the Red Devils cannot recruit the vanilla units, but rather the red devil ones.

Regarding the upcoming patch, I just thought of something whilst responding to everyone. CA did not add the original minor clans to custom battles on release, and have not since. I suspect they will do the same with the RotS minors. I will make sure you can play as those minors in custom battles in the upcoming version of my mod. I will also update the pack file in the "All Factions Playable and Incorrect Crest Fix.rar" file so anyone who doesn't like my mod can still enjoy custom battles with any minor faction and with the crest fix.

Oh! I also did a computer upgrade yesterday, including but not limited to a new video card. Assuming the screenshots feature of steam doesn't destroy what could be high quality images with compression, the images I post in the thread should be significantly better-looking!

I have a question about the fixes, I'm currently using the Strength bar Fix along with Unit types plus border fix

I currently can't see the army strength bars, are my fixes conflicting or something?

Should I only use Strength bar fix along with one other fix?

Sorry for the noob question @_@.

I wouldn't call it a noob question, but rather a good one .

The three fixes completely remove particular things. The strength bar fix removes those strength bars so as not to cover up parts of the banners. The borders fix removes the borders from the big floating banners in battles. The unit type icons fix removes the unit type icons from the battle banners (they are seen somewhere around the centre of the banner).

Thus, if you use the strength bar fix, it does its job by you not being able to see them. Most banners I tried to work with the game mechanics, but there are exceptions. The Tokugawa and Takeda banners, for example, take up pretty much all the room on the banners, and so if you want to see their banners in all their glory, these fixes will help you to do that. Other than that, the fixes serve no purpose. In fact, if you aren't all that concerned with the occasional Tokugawa/Takeda banner being covered up (you could be playing a different clan) then I do suggest you avoid using the fixes. It is best to see for yourself what they do by loading the main mod file ("Anton's Banner, Visual and Clan-swapping Overhaul [v1.6].pack") and thereafter have a go at the fixes. Good luck!

That really cleared up a lot of things for me, I was under the impression that the the bug Was the Strength bar dissappearing and that the Strength bar fix fixed that.

Once again, thank you for making things clearer to me!

I have a bit of time now, so I'll test it. I remember coming across this when modding, but the thing is it had to do with custom unit creation. The particular table that I edited to fix the problem is not used in this mod. What other mods are you using? If any of them are custom units, that is probably your best suspect.

(Edited) Ok. I just tested and I did not have that morale bug, although I suspect I wouldn't. This is probably a problem on your end. As per my inquiry above, what mods do you have (including ABVOM)?

    ----

    Another edit.

I updated the thread removing unnecessary clutter so as to draw more attention to the important information. I have also re-written parts to make sure important things about the mod are understood and I have also removed the banner until I come up with something more interesting. Stylized calligraphy, maybe? We'll see.
