So I'm home on break and decided to get RTW on steam so of course I could play RSII. It took me a little while to get the install right but I eventually got it to work, almost! As far as I can tell everything seems to be working fine (I haven't been using the launcher, which doesn't work at the moment) However whenever I go to fight a battle I get a CTD during the loading screen. I've read some other threads and tried to adjust my video settings accordingly but it hasn't solved the problem yet. Here are my specs

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.vistasp2_gdr.110617-0336)

    System Manufacturer: Gateway
    System Model: GM5626
    BIOS: Default System BIOS
    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
    Memory: 3070MB RAM
Page File: 1616MB used, 4750MB available
    Windows Dir: C:\Windows
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
    DxDiag Version: 7.00.6002.18107 32bit Unicode

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

Since this might be important, when I do try the launcher i get the following error messages

    ". . . you've probably done something wrong"

    1. don't have . . installed in the correct folder . .

    2. Engine: RomeTW.exe, Faction campaign: -mod:play_sarmatia

    3. In total: 'RomeTW.exe -mod:play_sarmatia_err -nm -movie_cam'

I installed RSII into a new folder on my desktop and then dragged them into

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\rome total war gold, which had all the RTW vanilla stuff in it

I'd help but I don't play R:TW using Steam. Someone will come along at some stage and help - be patient and don't double post.

Can you go to where you installed RS2 (the steam one) and and open the launcher folder and open the error.ini file please?
Then screenshot it and upload it here?
    Thanks

    It should be right there...
Can you run the launcher again, make sure the steam button is set to yes, and when the errors come up screen shot the first one, that says "1. don't have . . installed in the correct folder . "

well this is weird, I hit the steam option on the launcher to YES, only this time it asked for my steam account name (which it didn't do last time). I then hit the play RSII option and nothing happened except the play RSII box flashing like it's about to load. Then launcher at this point seems to not be responding. Also no errors came up this time.
