    Yes, it was. Just make sure to download Baranar's archive again, as some textures were missing from the original- they've since been replaced and the archive reuploaded.

    Manuel, I have comparedthe battlemodel files 6.4 with Baraban's dowload they look the same, but there are loadsa new mesh files

    How make the fix? Did you copy replace over the new attachment sets and units, with no editing of the battle_models file?

    I copied all the files from the units that I wanted to replace. Specifically, I had a problem with sicilian men-at-arms, both mounted and dismounted, so I searched for the Southern Dismounted Men-At-Arms section in the battle_models file and also the mounted version. From there, I copied every file referenced from the Baraner's rar to the SS 6.4 folders (a bit of a laborious process but worth it indeed- I am close to finishing my Byzantine campaign which I've been playing for four months and was prevented to do so).

    I also copy-pasted the battle_models sections to the SS 6.4 battle_models- I didn't look closely enough to see if they were differences, just went ahead and did it anyway.

    I eventually fixed this problem, the issue for me was that the HRE and Sicily Final Special Head attachment sets didn't have the problematic "slave" one, they had their own, so you won't find it using the search tool. But the HRE and Sicily heads also don't work, so if you find those for both mounted and dismounted, and replace them with
    64 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Special Heads_base_norm.texture 0
    you'll be good to go. I'd tell you the name of the problematic HRE and Sicily heads, but I no longer have them. They are next to the other "slave" ones, so you can find them manually. Hope that clarifies.

    If you're going to use the Late Knights mod to fix this CTD, then please make sure you download version 1.02 via the new link I posted above.

    Sorry for the inconvenience earlier, something went horribly wrong with the original archive that I sent to Mediafire and some users were getting the 'archive incomplete' error while others were able to unpack the file but with several textures missing... I have uploaded it again earlier this week, tested it and can confirm that the archive works okay. Please note that this does not affect anyone that downloaded the file via 4shared, as that one seems to be working okay.

    That should be all the bugs squashed, but if anyone else has any problems with it then please let me know as soon as possible so that I can make the necessary fixes....

    This is a really annoying bug, and really someone from the 6.4 team should make an installer patch using Baraban's work or similar to fix it (not all SS players are modders). This shouldn't have made it passed the beta testing.
