William Wallace

I started my campaign in the Late Era as Kingdom of England. First off I invaded Scotland and took Edinburgh, then BAM! William Wallace appeared. He took it back then I saw my princess and tryed to get William Wallace into my family. I sent her over, she had 31% chance.She failed and left my faction...so just wondering, can William Wallace join your faction through marriage?

Yes. I saw pics of french and english William Wallaces here on twcenter. But the english William Wallace attacked Edinburgh even when the city belonged to same faction. Was in the bug thread. Might be a scripting problem since William Wallace should not been in the english faction. In fact he really hated the english in general and longshanks especially.

I recommend: If you are able to join him your faction keep him away from Edinburgh.

Sadly I don't have pics, but back in 6.1 I managed to get Symbaselius William Wallace. It was pretty awsome, but I'm a little dissappointed that he has no hereditary traits, nor any unique traits to the best of my knowledge.

Offtopic, I think they should do some simaler scripts for other factions, in particular Joan of Ark, but also maybe make a couple of cities spawn additional elite units when besieged (not all major cities like in BC though, maybe just Rome, Constantinople, Jerusalem, Baghdad, Cordoba, and maybe Mecca).

I made him King of England during an English campaign, although if you want to do that then you need to add his name to the list of names or else his children will have generic/random names. I also remember having to add his skin to their faction, because he was initially all silver like the Silver Surfer.

Just waiting a bit and not ganging up your princesses on him the minute he arrives should be enough

I agree with jeanne d'arc. Would be awesome if she was included. I might be wrong but i belive she is in the 100-years-war mod integrated.
AFAIK costum heroes need a unit card as well. In times where free slots for units are needed im afraid this wont happen (soon).

She could be added as an ancillary - not as an actual general sort of character.
1: because all generals are hardcoded as males, and it might be wierd to get female marriage offers for her.
2: she never did any fighting, but rather functioned as a morale raiser and/or standard bearer.

As for bringing William Wallace into another faction via marriage, it is possible, but he won't have any skin, unless the files are edited. He is intended for Scotland only.

You can put Joan as a general in battle also & give her a hidden trait that will restrict her marriage there by making it female in technical sense.
& Wallace has merc textures so he will have those textures when he belongs to other factions.
