Once again the warlike tribes of Spain have begun feuding. A land struggle has taken place, as the growing number of Lusitanians has necessitated the need for farmland to sustain the population. As a result, the Lusitanians have begun seizing territory property of the Celtiberi. This, however, did not go unpunished. The Celtiberi launched ferocious counterattacks but were eventually ground to a halt by the overwhelming number of Lusitanians.

The chieftain of the Celtiberi has appealed to Roman arms for support in the defense of his homelands citing the alliance and loyalty his people had shown the Romans in the past against Carthaginian threats. As hill forts become heavily fortified proto-castles and provisions hauled away to be stored for a sustained conflict, it was obvious the Celtiberi were at a serious disadvantage. Roving bands of Lusitanians were penetrating deeper into their territory daily, raiding, stealing and murdering any who opposed them.

Geriatrix has invited the governor of Nearer Spain to a meeting regarding this very issue.

The Lusitanians have decimated my forces...they are fighting a war of expansion, they mean to drive my people off the land by any means, the easiest being death. Te best farmland they take for themselves, as well as mines. They've already begun extracting as much as they can lest they lose control... I learned to speak Latin from my father, who learned it from his before him. Long ago we fought alongside one another as friends fighting a common enemy. Do you think the Lusitanians will stop with us? No, once we are gone they will turn their greedy eyes east to the coast. My enemy is your enemy, or will be eventually.
