    Default Is the Current Financial Crisis a Punishment from God?

    Here's a perfect opportunity to combine the "Political Mudpit" with "Ethos, Mores and Monastica".

    So, could the current financial crisis be a punishment from God?

    Let's recap why God might be a tad pissed off:

    1. Because the Americans and the Europeans not only resist converting to Islam, but they also persecute the followers of the only true religion, the Muslims;

    2. Because the Americans and the Europeans tolerate the Jews, Muslims, Budhists, Hindus, etc instead of forcefully converting them to the only true religion, Christianity (for practical reasons God might want to wait until all the heathens are converted to the various flavors of Christianity and only then He would demand the Christians sort out which denomination is the actual True Christianity, preferably though the good old religious wars which unfortunately stopped in the 17th century Europe, much to God's displeasure).

    3. Because the Americans are heretics - most Americans belong do various Protestant denominations and the Catholic Americans instead of burning the American Protestants at the stake, tolerate their heresies. Let's not forget all the major financial crisis starting from 1929 originated in the US, which must be a strong hint God is really angry at the Americans.

    4. Because the Americans don't forcefully convert the increasingly Atheist Europeans to true Christianity (as mentioned before, God probably would wait till the Europeans are Christians again and then He would demand they sort it out in the good old way).

    5. Because almost all the countries tolerate fags, and God hates the fags;

    6. Because almost all the countries tolerate abortions, :wub:, oral sex, anal sex and sex before marriage thus offending God big time.

    7. Because all the countries abolished black slavery, thus offending God (see "Curse of Ham"). To make the matter worse, the Americans elected a "Hamite" for president while in Africa the "Hamites" elect other "Hamites" for Presidents instead of willingly putting in power the white descendants of Japhet.

    8. Because the Christians, Jews, Budhists, etc and even some so called "Muslims" disobey God's word by giving equal rights to women, allowing them to walk on the streets unaccompanied, without their faces covered and even wearing short skirts.

    9. Because some so-called Muslims circumvent God's ban on charging interest rates on loans by setting up the godless financial abominations called "Islamic banks".

    P.S: Can the list of offenses to God be enlarged further? For instance Hindus sometimes go around bombing mosques. If religion pushes the Hindus to bomb somebody then I assume the Hindus might also find religious reasons behind the financial crisis.

    Nope. That's where I stopped reading. The line has to be drawn somewhere.

    It would have been better had you just let that opportunity pass you by tbh. The financial crisis has more to do with bankers making drunken bets with other over imaginary numbers that exist only on some kind of a screen than God.

    If God's intention were to punish people for their sins, it would be a lot worse and more spiritually harmful than a financial crisis (how about, nonexistence or worse?). Not to mention that if you consider a financial crisis as a vein of asceticism, spiritual benefits are certainly possible.

    If Dromikaites hasn't gone from a pretty centered guy to a religious fanatical then yes... this is a troll thread.

    'Scuse me?

    You first say Islam is the true religion, then you say Christianity is true religion. Come on...

    Could I report a thread for extreme stupidity?

    Since I'm an Atheist I am an equal opportunity peddler of religious outrageous reasoning.

    As an atheist you can make troll threads because you have no objective morality?

    Each of the reasons in the original post is perfectly articulated in the framework of one religion or another. Therefore the only unusual thing about this list is all those hypotheses are presented one after the other

    Yeah, we all know it's a troll thread. So the next logical question is why is it still open?

    Clearly because if the mods close it they'll be punished by god.

    This is why its so important the republicans win in 2012. With a real candidate, who runs with god, we can finally dismantle this earthly government and pray the economic problems away.
