As part of the 'urban street season' channel 4 are screening a documentary on London Graff legend 'Robbo.' Graffiti Wars focuses on the feud between 'street artist' Banksy and Robbo.

Robbo is an old friend of mine and it's about time his side of the feud was given some media coverage. Sadly Robbo is currently in a coma after an accident earlier this year, this will be a bitter sweet watch for me but it should be interesting for anyone who has an interest in Graffiti/street art.

I'll probably be watching it. I found that Bansky-directed Documentary from last night ('Exit through the Gift Shop'), and the 'How Hip Hop Changed the World' documentary from the night before very interesting viewing.

What happened to Robbo if you don't mind me asking?

So is it Robbo who copied Banksy who copied Blek le Rat, or Banksy who copied Robbo who copied Blek le Rat?

If you're watching you'll know by now that Banksy owes a lot to Blek, while Robbo is an original.

Just watched it. Very interesting stuff. It does seem a shame that Banksy gets all the attention and credit for the street art movement when there are people out there that have been going just as long (If not longer) and done some equally great stuff.

That's just the way the scene is these days. Banksy paints a wall it adds value to the property, he also has a large team of people who put perspex over his work. I saw a comment in a news paper awhile back where an estate agent had said a Bansky on the side of a house could add as much as £20.000 to it's resale value. Councils treat his work as tourist attractions.

I hope you enjoy the documentary . His head injury was quite severe and the time he was undiscovered significant. There is always hope but, well, there is always hope.
