Having trouble as the mongols

I am having trouble playing as the mongols in S.S 6.4 H/M late era
Earlier in the campaign I managed to take over up to edessa and yerevan. I decided to make peace with the turks and ally with the cumans and disband most of my army. I waited 25 turns to repay the debt of -250000( I disbanded some of my army at the beginning). Once I am out of debt, I built up my empire and created new army to conquer egypt and turkey. The nile rivers are secured and I don't have to worry about invasion. Now I am in year about 1320 and I tried to take over hungary but all their militias are armored. The arrows were not as effective as before. The problem is my cuman allies are in northern part of anatolia and georgia with some of their stacks. I am afraid that Cumans would attack me so, I deployed troops to defend the borders. I can not commit all of my forces in the hungarian campaign, my dumb ass allies are breathing over my neck and I am facing armored foes. What should I do?

You still have some decent melee cavalry and your better HA can still pick apart armored enemies from the rear. Get some mercenary heavy infantry to pin and flank with your HA. Or just take very few HA and fight a preliminary battle retreating when out of arrows. Even with lower kills due to the higher armor you should be able to take out 30-50% of a normal Hungarian full stack army, the 2nd battle should then be much easier.

I prefer to set out a bait army of HA to draw enemy armies and then attack in a favorable position when they are isolated. Night attack, attack from hill, etc. Set pairs of HA to work together- 1 on skirmish with fire at will off in front of enemy cavalry, 1 HA behind- when enemy turns just switch the roles. Mongol HA are good enough to win with low losses until you start seeing many Gendarmes and later cavalries. Chivalric and Men at Arms are only really bad if you don't shoot from behind. Anything lower can still be killed even from the front.

Soon a new "friend" will breath right at your doorstep, in the opposite direction... so you would better fortify that area too if you want to keep it (Timurids 1330 right?)

lol you serious? Do they come with 12 stacks?

Not 1330 sorry... a bit later (about 50 years later i think) but they act as the mongols did (many stacks and agressive) only more powerfull and "angry".

well.. right now I decide to attack my cuman allies. Better to pre emptively strike the cumans then wait it out. I managed to take tibilsi, sinope, trebozoid, bala, and another city in gerogia. Cumans keep sending me seven stacks of noble horse archer s to get tibilisi back. I managed to defend the mountain pass in tibilsi. Meanwhile in hungary I took most of greece peninsula and proceed to finish the hungarians off, but there is like four stacks of novograds trying to finish the hungarians. Also, behind the hungarians are bunch of christain state who all hate me. What should I do with the novograd's should I attack them too?

Novgorod won't be nearly as much trouble as some of the other western factions since they have very few units with good armor.

but the cumans are pretty annoying. They keep spamming noble horse archers which can take out my horse archers. Had to fight stacks of annoying noble horse archers. Lost lot of good men. Right now I am war with the novograds because I have to fulfill my victory conditions. Not as annoying as the cumans but they own lot of land and spam eight full stacks of home guards, spear crossbow and horse militias, and boyars. I am year 1340 a.d and its 30 more years till the timmys come. In addition, the venetians are sending their stacks to take my hungarian frontier. lol I am getting desparate

I can't even imagine anyone having trouble winning battles as the Mongols, especially playing with them on medium battle difficulty.

which is a guide on how to use your missile cavalry, who are the Mongol's ultimate weapon. The "Khorchi" have a missile attack of 5, are clad in heavy armour and have the long range missiles attribute. If I were you I would invest in all cavalry armies, encircle the opponent using Khorchis and Nukeris and keep firing at him from all angles. You will be able to stay away from their crossbow's range as it is so short and not many Western archers have long range missiles either. Even with armour, opponents will suffer massive losses when fired upon from different angles. After you softened them enough, charge the more heavily armoured foes down with some Turhagut and destroy the routing units by skirmishing with the fast moving Nukeri.
