Invalid CD key for WINDOWS 7! Normal fix doesn't work!
I've been trying to play stock ME2TW online and I get the invalid cd key message when trying to log in.
I know this is a common issue, since I've had it before, and I googled the problem. The way to solve the problem (which worked for me last time) did not work. When I went into the registry to find the cd key file and change it - there was no cd key file to change! Very weird. I searched all around google but found no answers on why this is.
I feel it may well be a windows 7 problem!
My Medieval 2 is installed in programme (x86) just for reference.
Your continued support is appreciated,
Thanks.

i got steam version of mtw2 and kingdoms, had same issue even down to no cd key in registry.
uninstall completely. create a brand new gamespy id with an email address you have not used for gamespy (yes, that sucks but this is key).
reinstall mtw2, run game once. test login to multiplayer with new gamespy info. should work. if it does not, stop now because what i tried is not going to help you. if multiplayer login does work, you should be good to go with next step.
reinstall kingdoms, run the game and try logging into multiplayer.
hope that helps.
it seems that gamespy wants a new gamespy id for running m2tw from steam for some reason. in my case i had an old boxed copy that i had registered and used for multiplayer, and my new copy (and therefore cd key) did not like my old gamespy id giving invalid cd key (since it was expecting my old cd key).
