    Default 2 problems after reinstalling... : SOLVED

    Hi, I have reinstalled this mod in my new computer...all seems to work fine (in-game..) but there are banners (which looks smaller than originals one , with the isengard, rohan, gondor, etc.. assigned textures in their right place ) , can you help me to find a way to delete them? I said in-game because there is another problem..i can't use the TATW icon, to launch the mod, i must always execute the disc and then click in "play to medieval 2 : americas", however i installed medieval kingdoms with only americas expansion, then TATW 2.0 part 1, then part 2 and 2.1, after that i moved the folder "americas" to my desk and renamed the file "Third_Age" to "americas"...what did i do wrong? Moreover, i used exactly the same installer files (downloaded in moddb) than in my old pc (moved with USB key) and i didn't encounter these problems in my old pc..
    Thanks in advance for helping me

    PS : I have got windows 7, and for my banners problem, my "TATW.cfg" folder gets "show_banners = 0", here it is :
    [features]
    editor = true
    mod = mods/Third_Age
    [io]
    file_first = true
    [log]

    ;windowed = true
    ;movies = false
    show_banners = 0
    [misc]
    show_hud_date = true
    ;bypass_sprite_script = 1

    after that i moved the folder "americas" to my desk and renamed the file "Third_Age" to "americas"...what did i do wrong?
    What did you do that for?

    1) Run the installer: part 1of2
    2) Point installation path to the \Medieval II Total War folder
    3) Repeat with part 2of2 and patch, no renaiming no copying anything

    TATW should install itself in \Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age

    Desktop icon shold also contain correct path, if not:
    - right click on the icon
    - select properties
    - in "target element" field, paste correct installation path of yours
    (target element may have different name, im not using english windows)

    Renaiming and copying americas folder was used in older version of Call of Warhammer mod (can't remember which one exactly)

    your "banner problem" might be caused by wrong .cfg file being loaded and that would be caused by screwd up installation

    additionally, pls read FAQ and installation instructions,
    those are clear, i followed them and everything is working fine

    You don't have to, and shouldn't change to name of the folder.
    The launching config was coded for the orinigal Folder.
    And also, the shortcut, like zax said.

    Actually TATW was preset with no banners, but carried by a actual 'banner carrier' unit.
    Aure entuluva!

    Thanks! i am now reinstalling all again without changing the name of the folder.
    Done and the problem is not solved , i think it is not an installation problem because even the americas campaign shortcut can't be launched.. And when i launch the original medieval 2 total war shortcut, a window appear, it is about "Microsoft.NET Framework" and it says : "An unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click to Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will shut down immediately.
    Imput string was not in correct format."
    Here are the Details :

    reinstall everything, kingdoms, medieval - everything, from scratch, so u have fresh and clean installation.
    Make sure u get rid all medieval 2 remains from your system, clear up windows registry, delete all folders (if u got saves u can back them up)
    If message "net framework" continues u can try update it from Microsoft site.

    U can try also to install all kingdoms exspansions, than TATW and than remove unwanted expansions.

    @Knights Templar : this is not the first time i play with it.. i know that there is a banner carrier unit.. but i was not speaking about it.
    @zak : i did it and it still didn't work
    @All : now it is solved, i downloaded a crack of "kingdoms.exe", i replaced the other "kingdoms.exe" file which did't work by this, (after all it is legal because i have got the game) and i changed the value from 1 to 0 for "show_banners" in the "medieval2.preference.brg" file (which worked well since i replaced by the new "kingdoms.exe" file), since that, i can play this mod with the shortcut, and without those horrible banners!
