    Default Answering the beckon

Reluctantly, I am answering a call to resume my activity at TWC. Reluctantly, for it took long discussions with those few who are qualifieed intellectually to run this forum to convince me. My last departure was a temporary victory for a lynch mob. Along with me departed many of the best members of these boards.

I was accused of other’s crimes and used as a scapegoat because I had dared to try and use my experience to improve the symbiotic qualities of TWC. Sadly, the hormone-induced egos of pubescents where put before the delicate crystal of intellect and misunderstood I withdrew.

Archer served with me in those days, and like a few others he wanted to straighten a wrong that had been committed. A lot of knowledge as to the true crimes of the past spring had been lost, but was kept alive in the institutional memery of a select few.

I am not here for accusations. I also self-critically realize that I was too severe in my zest for keeping TWC clean of verbal defacation and putrid spam. I felt it improper to return. Seeing however a wave of positive overturn in the forums under Archer’s reigns I have heeded the calls to serve the community and agreed to a second attempt to help this site. Siblesz, Simetrical, Archer, and Justinian have all been speaking with me regularly since January, since the failed Decemvirate that I was invited to observe.

Elba is no longer my home. Join me fellow civitates and help make this a clean and intellectually enriching site.

Seeing here Seleukos and several junior moderators derelict of their duties I hope that the staff will deal with this appropriately and put a lid on this spammy pandemonium in the Curia.

Well whatever you do, please don't resign. I'm starting to feel ever more sorry Seleukos is gone.

THIS was the big secret? Thats it?!

Damn, I was hoping we were all taking a trip to Hawaii, and the disagreement was about wether we should use southwest airlines or Hawaii airlines.

Finaly, anyone who has witnessed the turmoill the last of couple of days must surely realise why this have happened. Some mods childish and short sighted actions clearly shows me that they were parhaps never suited for their position at all. Now hopefully all those who are clearly against TWC will be dealt with, having a fancy badge won't protect anyone!

Wait a minute, I dont understand why Crandar is being given a second chance. He obviously abused his power while he had it, now you want to forget all that and give him power AGAIN? If H&G and Farnan are unfit for their ranks, I dont get why Crandar gets special treatment, afterall what Crandar seems to have done was much, much worse than flaming. I dunno the details, but why exactly are people willing to forgive and forget when it comes to Crandar, but not anybody else? If a mod even sneezes wrong, its ostrakon this and demotion that...but here we have Crandar who has already proven to be unfit to weild power, being handed power again?

Well, I am surprised at the level of language in the Curia. I chatted with Archer last night, and given the early morning hours here I must take my leave for several hours. Nevertheless I will return later to hopefully learn more about some of the new faces that are congregating in this thread.

I can see that Garbarsardar is one of the few recognizables. Time is brief.

Praetor please fix this thread, I was not expecting so much spam on my return.

Unsurprisingly it seems to be coming largely from house Manji.

Ok, I was here when the Crandar ostrakon happenend I am with LV on this one... He has a second chance. WTF? If staff realy puts him back as a moderator I will severely limiting my time and activity on TWC. Howgh!

Putting him on to cut spam is like appointing Hitler as Prime Miniter in France to talk with the youth protesters.

Why dont the people who support Crandar, simply keep him as an "advisor" of sorts, with no moderating power whatsoever? That seems like a good compromise, no? Crandar will get to have his say, and at the same time we wont have to worry about him abusing his power again. If someone wants Crandars opinion, they can ask, but obviously giving him power is only going to lead to trouble. His mere presence is leading to trouble, but people want to escalate the situation for some reason by giving him mod powers? Completely ridiculous, if bringing peace to TWC is the goal then this was a misstep, Crandar has way too much history here to ever NOT be controversial.

This is going to turn into something that TWC won't like. I guarantee it.

It's like stabbing a corpse a few more times in the graveyard just to satisfy personal feelings. Crandar was part of staff a while ago, and he got demoted, got his punishment a la he is not staff anymore. Simple as that. He was tried and he failed, end of story.
Senatory or Patrician, doesn't really matter, he is not staff anymore. anyway, most of you don't have enough information on crandar anyway, only his written posts and his actions, but you don't know crandar neither know what else he has done or ever talked to him.
I will be considering this poll to be closed as it serves nothing more but re-opening past troubles and turning people against each other, and not to mention judging over someone who isn't even here.

Thats weird...what could be more like "reopening past wounds" if not this? Inviting Crandar back, when so many people obviously despise him, and giving him power is not reopening past wounds? Personally, I'd take the poll and the corpse stabbing.

I still say a TWC trip to hawaii would have been a better surprise...
