    Default Heretics!

In my current campaign as the French, and am having an awesome time. I have taken Spain except for one province, the Moors had apparently, lost their final family member and gone rebel. This lead to much heretics spawning in Moor lands.

And now they are flooding my land. I am getting some with 4-5 piety, which is a pain to burn. It's absolutely stupid trying to burn them all. Is there any easier way to deal with heretics? Please? My peasants are getting mad because they are listening to the heretics.

When i had such issues with heretics having 4-5 piety i usually spammed assassins and priests at them til they went, its irritating but you'll get them all.

assassins is your best chanche. if your priests fail to denounce them they can turn heretic themself, or lose skill points, which will make it even harder to denounce them

I think I once had up to 7 heretics on Rhodes. I had kept training priests on Rhodes but they kept getting converted to heresy. Then I finally shipped in a large group of assassins and it eventually worked. Fortunately, the Heretics had no way of leaving Rhodes to pollute other provinces.

Chose one city close to where your having trouble, build all the churches, abbey etc. that you can in that city, recruit all your priests in that one city... hopefully you will get the theoligans guild, master guild etc. quickly. That will help you get rid of them heretics! And also let you work towards a theoligan headquarters at the same time

I would go for Cordoba, as it usually has a high population, allowing the build of better churches quicker..

7 Heretics on tiny Rhodes must be a world record!! What was going on there to attract em like flies?!!

Bumping heretics off with assassins is usually the best way. Its a choker when a priest falls victim to heresy.

Still gutted we cant recruit Inquisitors ala Med 1 to roll around the map sorting out whats what.

I think there was only 1 in the beginning. But he converted all the priests that tried to burn him Heretic. The castle at Rhodes wasn't producing the most pious priests.

Assassins are your best bet. In the mean time, just flood the area with regular priests and don't try to denounce if they aren't up to the task. They will help counter-act the heretic's conversion rate until you can deal with them permanently.

Well, except for your assassins, you could try Cardinals. They never fall to heresy.

Well, I have no experience with Medieval II, I'm going to recieve it from Amazon.com on Wednesday or Thursday probably. But, I would reccomend sending Assassinos(Assassins) after the heretics. Speaking of which, I always hear about very serious punishments. Why not humiliate him? Say... oh I don't know: Have a priest grab that misguided child, spank his rear for awhile. XD Perhaps he will learn his lesson then.
Btw, I'm new to the site.

Massive Priest Recruitment campaign... I always make sure every settlement has a priest, and extra priests can be outside a settlement.

Moving your higher skilled Priests into the affected region, helps a lot at times.

my Current Danish Campaign, Antwerp and Utretch are both infested by heretics -- 3 in one, 5 in the other.

The locally recruited priests generally stand a 50/50 chance of being themselves turned to heresy, but my foreign Cardinals I move them in... and then it becomes 50/50 of killing the heretics..so they'll be gone soon.

It's easy to overlook the religion in this game, but IDK for me it's an important aspect as a Catholic Faction so that later on every other pope is of my faction and I own the largest share of Cardinals.

Cardinals, bishops, and assassins. You can also always just surround them with units and impassible terrain and then have another unit move onto the heretic. This will kill any agent that you don't own, and can happen to yours as well.

Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

That method is also good for sleazy, higher skilled foreign merchants who decide to acquire your assets. Works every time .

Like the above? Medieval II Signatures

    Generals aren't agents.
