    Default The Hound spoiler question

Just finished ASOS recently, and was disappointed seeing the hound and arya split up, is this the last I've seen of the hound? he was the most funniest char in the books imo, because of his personality and deep down everyone knows hes a nice guy but refuses to show it. And him nentoring arya was real cool, but without giving me devestating spoiler, will they ever reunite, or is the hound dead -.-

He was found by the elder of the silent Monks of that Island-Monastery, that Brienne visits in Feast.
The elder says that the Hound died there, and the only thing left for us to speculate about is wether that's metaphorical or not.
Some say that he might have been healed, but left "the Hound" behind, but it's just as likely that he's just dead.

thats an awesome way to go for sandor, we all knew he had his demons, hope its true if hes still alive, and the hound died, hes one of the most interesting characters in the book to me

Yes, my opinion is that the Hound is dead, but Sandor Clegane lives.

"So he is dead then" asked Brienne.

"He is at peace" said the huge gravedigger.

    No doubt he is alive.

The hints are pretty clear. The Gravedigger is huge; He still has some wounds and dog likes him. Verrry obvious.

Hm, lets consider who saw the Gravedigger. Brienne, who has never seen the Hound. The Septon & Ser Hyle, who haven't either. Then, there's Pod...but it's not unreasonable to believe that he wouldn't speak up, even if he recognized Clegane

Interesting, thanks for bringing that up

Lordinquisitor has it right. That had to have been Sandor on the Silent Isle. The monk spoke himself of how he was a Knight that did some regrettable things and 1 day he should have died but washed up on the Silent Isle shore instead and took a vow of silence for many years and became somebody new....then he happens to stumble upon the hound; now there's a really large gravedigger with a limp(Arya said his leg smelled infected when she left him), and he's really fond of dogs. Cleganes are hard to kill.

Sandor is gonna represent the faith and fight ZombieGregor who is Cersei's champion. He may have stopped being "The Hound" but i'm sure he'd still love to stab Gregor in the eye. This is a complete guess, but it'd be cool.

Idk his leg was really ed up when arya left him and i dont know howw much time had passed but it woudnt have turned into just a limp. I like the idea a lot but i dont know how it could happen.

Well, I believe him alive for one, but I think his part in Westeros is done.

Probably. He was looking for peace, first and foremost, and he might have found it at last. I gotta say I kinda like this "ending" for him more, than him becoming some sort of avenger

Yeah, this is some kind of sweet happy end for him. I think he deserved it- Altough seeing him in action once more would be awesome, too. I however have the feeling that if he would fight again he wouldn`t survive it.

I think that maybe, he will take revenge on the people that did this to him: The person that stole his helm, the Lannisters, and especially Cersei (Mainly since I HATE her)

    Your not the only one.

Well if he changed his personality to a boring monk then he's pretty much dead to me .

Boring monk? Sounds a bit harsh. He Finally found some peace. Maybe that is a sort of small, precious happy ending in the cruel world of asoiaf. At least for the time; I doubt that any character that is momentarily at peace will stay at peace for too long.

I don't know, I kind of like the idea of him championing the faith and having the brothers duke it out once and for all. It would be an epic battle for sure and seems like just the kind of twist Martin would throw in. That's my two cents anyway.

Just finished reading the part were they mentioned what happened to the Hound, and now I think hes definitely still alive, because after the Elder Brother is finished explaining what happened to him, and his own story saying how he had once died too than asked Brienne if she understood what he meant, and she said ya than he asked her if she really did. But on the other hand he mentions how he found him dying from his wounds, and gave him the gift of mercy and buried him on the spot :\
