Whats the most random empire youve seen in SS?

In 6.1, I was exploring, getting trade rights with everyone I could get near(this was my Ireland play through), and when I got to Constantanople, I notice that the next territory was white..so I stopped by...

And the Knights Templar had taken over all of Anatolia and everything to the Kwareziam borders and Gaza. I was like O_O Crusader Pwn.

And in my Holy Roman Empire play through(Second one, I love the HRE), the Crown of Aragon was pretty much everywhere, I had to protect the Kingdom of France from them

Pretty tame compared to what some people get, but in my current game (6.3, late era, VH/VH, playing as France) Hungary is the largest AI empire (the Persia to my Rome in a way) and is destroying the mongols in Georgia and Armenia, controls anatolia (minus Cesarea and Adana), the Balkans (accept for Mystras which I gifted back to the nearly dead Byzantines) parts of the steppes, and Austria. They turned back the previously undefeatable Mongols and ate all the lands that the mongols could no longer pay to defend.

Besides that, although it's not an empire exactly, the Pope is the worlds greatest military power, having upwards of 20 full stacks around his three cities Rome, Florence, and Bologna. It's scaaarey man

In the game I'm playing at the moment Genoa dominates the Russian steppes because they lost there Italian possessions but grew out from the Crimea.

Similarly I've seen situations where AI factions have migrated to completely inappropriate regions because they lost their home territory but grew after a successful crusade/jihad - like the Seljuks dominating Spain and Scotland dominating North Africa with their capital in Tunis.

Genoa always seems to take over a big chunk of Germany. Poland often gets a MASSIVE empire that spans half of Europe. But I've never seen the Crusader states survive the first 20 turns, let alone conquer Anatolia....

In my Portugal AAR, Norway was the world's second strongest power (after the Fatimids), and owned all of central and western Europe, plus Italy, as well as Scandinavia. They even beat back the English in the middle and late era, over and over again.

Lituania having in their hands Russia, Poland and parts of Germany. But most of time, the superpowers appear because faction you play. Bring destruction to Venice, Genoa grow, kill Hungary, Kiev and Poland grow.

so strange, I never see any AI apart from the Mongols grow REALLY big, the always fight with their neighbours, but never really extend to such a vast empire

I out it 0 turn for first few 100 turns then i turned it off cos i didnt want to die to 10 bajillion stacks of Romans.

The romans always become a major force it seems, ive seen the moors and lithuanians and turks also have 1/3 to 1/2 the map within 100 turns playing early campaign as well.

Playing as France, I once found that Hungary had totally migrated down to the middle east

After a crusade to Frankfurt and being driven out of Iberia by Portugal, the Moors and Aragon I once saw Spain in control of all of Germany, northern Italy and parts of Scandinavia.

I always see the Fatmids win the game.... (partly because I never care about the winning conditions...)

in late era poland or hungary usualy get real strong in the east

I've seen Sicily go completely berserk after a succesful crusade and conquer nearly all of Middle East (this was in 6.1) before loosing it all to the Mongols. In most campaigns in 6.4 the Byzantines take off like a rocket but then get bogged down in endless wars on 2 - 3 fronts and whoever wins that fight usually ends up being the dominant power (i.e. most often Turks, Fatimids or Hungary)
