Default Hit a snag in my campaign

While playing a campaign as the Julii, I hit a snag where the game CTD everytime I conquer my 50th territory. Although I have my game set to use the "show_err" command, unfortunately all that happens is I get a window saying "windows is searching for a solution to the problem" and will update me if a solution is found however nothing ever comes back. I've played a lot of campaigns before and have never ran into this glitch.
    Suggestions?

Sometimes it helps if I reload and move a different character (ie a spy, assasin family member army etc) to a different spot and then fight the battle. It also seems to happen more frequently for me if I'm sieging a town and wait long enough for the AI to sally forth and attack me, basically taking the town on the AIs turn. It doesn't seem to do that if I manually fight the battle on my turn to win the territory.

Unfortunately I've tried it with multiple cities, both auto-resolve, manually attacking, waiting for AI to attack and all CTD. I guess I'll just have to restart.

    Well that's a bummer. Sorry I wasn't more helpful.

This CTD is possibly happening because something is missing from the game files. Back up the save and re-install the game.
