M2TW has sufferd an unspecified error and will now exit

Hi guys, I was going on my laptop like any other day and decided to play M2TW. When it launches it goes to the loading screen then says that error (title) I met all of it's specs and the strange thing is that I can play any other expansion and any other mod. I have the GOLD edition and it is patched to 1.5 please guys help me I really miss messing with the pope

I would just like to add two questions:

1. Have you been able to play Vanilla on that system before?
2. Have you installed any other software (esp. Games) on that system since installing M2 Gold?

If I may, I'll post my problem here as well instead of starting a new topic. I get the unspecified error whenever I start a new turn (press the hourglass button). It blacks out and I get the error message. I looked around in internet and it seems to be a common issue when players get to turn 160-170. I have gold edition as well. Tryed clean reinstall (deleted the Sega folder). I use a modification called Clouds Across Europe.

3.I can start a new game. I'm just afraid of losing my AAR and that the problem might occur again when I reach turn 160 or so.

I can load a save game on kingdoms. ANY expansion. It's just normal M2TW I do have some mods. But I did'nt replace any files whatsoever. And M2tw will do that error (title) at the very start where it shows MEDIEVAL 2 TOTAL WAR and you will see lots of knights on horse behind it. That's where it crashes.

I'll ask again - have you installed new software (esp. Games) on that system? What mod's do you have installed for the Vanilla/Kingdoms M2? What Anti-virus are you currently using? Lastly - what is your current version of M2? 1.4 or 1.5?

I'd be happy to answer your questions but your problems should probably have it's own thread. You know how to answer a Tech thread. Make your own and ask these same questions and I assure you that you'll get a response. Your problem and the OP's problem are too far apart to make any serious conclusions. Good luck!

EDIT @1VidGamer - what was happening at turn 160 when this problem occurred? Timurids? Americas? Make your own thread - your problem is not likely related to the OP. Good luck!

Well I have 1.5 patch, I jut have 1 mod. That is Broken Crescent. My Antivirus is ESET NOD32 and I havent installed anything ever since.

You did mention before that you have the Gold edition. What you have not pointed out is whether you bought the game on discs or bought a downloaded version from somewhere like Steam. This is important information - please let us know where you bough the game from. It does make a difference. Good luck!

Are you trying to pay vanilla after installing CAE?
