How do you import dds skin files?

I am creating a mod for myself (look at the sig below) and have created some nice realistic skins for 1780 however i can not import the dds files with pack file manager, any help please???

the easiest way is to put the new skins in you data folder and then add from there, what steps are you currently trying.

i have not done it from the data folder, i was doing it from my desktop so ill try that, thx

just put them in the same folder as the others then either add file by file, or add by directory and delete the ones you don't need.

again if you get stuck let me know I will put up a step by step image guide

looking forward to seeing some nice new skins
