    Default CRUSADES!

I'm playing with Kingdom of Jerusalem, and recently requested papal assistance, which has been answered with the calling of a crusade and the arrival of Frederick Barbarossa.
I have one question, is it possible to call for another crusade if I lost Jerusalem for example? Richard Lionheart would come? Or is it only possible to call for a crusade once?
    thanks!

I've never used this mechanic because I won my Jerusalem campaign without losing mayor cities, but the way I understand it there are two crusade mechanics:

1] Timed crusades based on the historical ones. So Frederick Barbarossa and Richard of England show up whether or not you build any buildings.
2] Extra crusades that may or may not come when you build the papal assistance building. You can build the building once per city, and apparently it only has a decent chance of working if you lost important cities. But again, as I said, I never tried this.

Although, they only arrive if you have lost some specific settlements or if the Ayyubids have too many settlements. There is also a high chance that Richard The Lionheart will arrive if you will lose Acre.

    OP, beware of the Crusades!

In BC 2.0, i summoned a crusade, and Barbarossa and Richard Lionheart appeared by Constantinople some turns later. But the deal is that your faction (KoJ) will pay all their upkeep. I instantly went into bankrupcy, and only some 20 turns later, when i had conquered all Northern Egypt, i got my finances on green.

Also, as Dogensu said, if you lose some settlements, its more likely the crusaders will appear. And, of course, the Fourth Crusade is a scripted event. If eventually play as the Eastern Roman Empire, be alerted two full stacks of Crusaders will appear before Constantinople in 1204. Those are rebel armies, it was actually funny, because one army sieged the city, and i destroyed it, but the other one never attacked, and kept wandering through Thrace for the rest of the game
