Just thought we should start a thread on this series so as to not spoil it for anyone who has not read the books yet in the first series thread.

About damn time. I'm halfway through the second book but I haven't had anyone to talk with about it.
Well then talk to me about it, lol. How are you finding it? have you seen the current cast line up for the next series? I just finished Clash of Kings, well....I have about 50 pages to go lol.
I think it's much slower than the first book, or maybe I'm just forgetting what happened in the first book. Tyrion has an interesting storyline. I really can't work out his motive, because obviously he can't become king - who would follow a dwarf? - but is it his plan to transform the position of the Hand of the King so it's the real power? He's just changes a lot since the first book.
I wish there was a bit more focus on Jon too. 400 pages in and I think there's been about three chapters for The Wall. I'm just too impatient.
Well the idea is that the King's hand will be in charge instead to stop the madness. So Tyrion is effectively the King in all but name at this time.
The wall doesn't feature that much in Clash, but what does occur is very important and nearly every chapter moves the story on quite a lot. However I believe there's quite a few more in the final third or so of the book.I wish there was a bit more focus on Jon too. 400 pages in and I think there's been about three chapters for The Wall. I'm just too impatient.

Clash of Kings is epic, my two centsShagga is my favourite character.
Dolorous Edd! Dolorous Edd! Dolorous Edd!
Oh I really loved the second book. I enjoyed Davos chapters with a passion, Stannis is a man in ten thousand, much like Ned Stark.....

Davos is pretty boring except for all of the POVs (including his) about the Blackwater. As far as this book goes though, I feel ASOS is better, but this one is great too. The scene that sticks out to me is Catelyn presiding over Renly and Stannis's negotiations. Very touching and nothing is ever the same after their meeting.

I wonder when the books get to a point where the three arcs are completely tangled in each other...
'Ahh yes an authentic rastaclot weapon, as used by the rastaclot nobles in the court of King Bumbaclot '
I always get annoyed with the scenes with Dany in the east, it just feels like they are diverting away from the storyline and it annooyed me reading through it, I konw it will eventually intertwine with the main westeros storyline but i found it cumbursome.
PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK

I feel as if the Dany chapters just exist to perpetuate themselves seeing as it would be quite odd if a Targaryen just landed on Westeros with little backstory. I thought the scene in the House of the Undying Ones was well done and it will be definitely be interesting to see how that plays out in the spring.

I cant remember, and in fear of ruin things, exactly where did the Jon storyline end in clash? (and spoilers for the answer)
I make 50 foot pyre fires at my friend's house all the time. Isn't that hard.
