Fixing Lag/Resolution

Hi guys I have been trying to figure out the lag issues that make it hard to play on old PC. If you have these issues on battle map open the preferences.txt under the shogun 2 folder for the mod. Go to line Use Triple Buffer make it False, Go to line Splashes and make that False also. These to cause the graphics card to use all resources causing lag for older PC's. Next go to resolution make Battle/Map 1024x768 min, 2048x1536 max. Then on the line 3d bit UI make this False as well. When you start game it will start windowed but no worries go to Video Options and make Battle/Map resolution 1280x768x16 and hit the apply resolution button. You will see it will go out of window mode, after this set Anti Aliasing to None, and shadows to none. It will automatically save resolution so next time game starts it wont be windowed. You may have to experiment some settings to get it right but all in all you can have huge battles with no lag, like other mods. Hope this helps!

Many thx Lord ahrens, have just fought a multi stack battle with improved lag, I would recommend it for RNJ users, esp as my fix is based on HUGE unit size.

Np man! I have corrected a few more things to speed up battles and improve battle atmosphere, here ya go! Id try to copy this after you put it under RTW/BI/Preferences> and also put under RTW/BI/Shogun2/prefernces>...so they both match.

Will add to next fix, however you got unit size set at 80 not 160! All my fix's are based on huge unit size, if you use a smaller size you will get too high population growth. And I always have UNLIMITED_MEN_ON_BATTLEFIELD set to true, it worth dropping graphic level to have 10000 men on the field at once! If you dont blitz will get at least a few multi stack battles every 10yrs or so

Oh ok no problem you can change it to unit size max and unlimited men on battlefield it should still be okay with that
