    Default Calling allies for assistance

Recently, in SPQR mod, Rome attacked a single unit Gallic army with one of their full stacks. Prior to the battle, my faction leader's army was called on for assistance and I accepted, considering Rome is my ally. My army moved towards the battle site, but it never went to the battle map and my army didn't engage.

My questions: How do I call on an AI ally for assistance without having to have them already in the red square at battle start? Also, how come my army didn't engage, even though I accepted the request for help and my army moved toward the battle?
    "And then He said, 'Oops.'"

    Rep points are very nice.

Your army was delayed and the battle ended without you. :wavecry

I don't think you can call them for assistance, but then again I never need it.

It's true, the best chances you have are when an allied army is located right next to you. Even then, they still may not make it on the battlefield, but the AI shouldn't be too hard to beat, should it?

The AI is only hard sometimes. My AI allies never help and usually I am forced to help them. But the only time things ever go good is when I control my own forces as reinforcments.
Just a quick story: was playing BI as eastern romans and 2 sarmation hordes attacked Constantinople. I sallied forth and I had one small army as garrison and 1 more small army as reinforcements. One of the Sarmation hordes was delayed so I took the cance and went for the lone sarmations. Just as I was finishing setting up formations outside the city, the delayed sarmations appear on my flank. I reacted fast and was able to destroy them as they crossed the red line. Then I marched on the other army and won. One of my greatest victories.

iknow that this is not the BI forum, but this relates to AI assistance and reinforcement.

once i had a battle as the scythians vs the germans. i had two stacks, they had two stacks. so u would think 2 armies each in the battle..

not so. for the first 5 to 7 minutes my and their reenforcements didn't turn up. all i did was skirmish with horse archers. took down 2 of 8 spear warbands.

then their reenforcements arrived. i saw them come, and all of a sudden, i was outnumbered 2 or 3 to one....

with no infantry except one peasant unit and two axemen i ran away...

during all that, none of my reenforcements arrived...

i felt rather sad. i left no german alive once i got to smashing them one by one...

There is a solution that causes reenforcements to show up more often.

u have to go to ur spqr folder find the folder labaled preferences click on the document inside named preferences and change: Unlimited men on battlefield to true

    hope this helps everyone,
