scots pikemen

This probably sounds quite stupid but i cant work out how you get any type of pikemen as scotland. Help would be greatly appreciated

Perhaps he's referring to the inclusion of real recruitment?

If so, you'll need to wait many many many turns before you can recruit them. This was implemented to try and depict the actual soldiers and weapons available to armies at that time so you won't be having gunpowder troops in, say, 1200.

I believe there's a way to turn it off but I'm not sure...but as bane said, it'd be helpful if you could tell us what version you're using etc.

Thanks for the help. That real recruitment thing is probably it. I am using the latest version of SS

Pike Militia is easier to get (due to not requiring that event), but it's still a pain to improve barracks to required level.

You`ll get Scottish Pike Militia at the same you can get any other pike troops as Scotland, which is after the "New Era" event, which usually fires off at the year 1300 AD.
