Re: Jesus vs Muhammed: the final proof
Let me tell you what is bugging Garb.
Religions are about faith. Disputes about religions end up
A.either irrational-because (take it from the mouth of an atheist) you cannot dispute, or debunk, or demolish one's faith.
B.or an attempt to link crimes commited in the name of this religion to the person who initiated it.
The second path usually leads to the debunking of the respective holy books and scriptures (you can add scrolls manuscripts and word of mouth here). Now both parties act under the assumption that there is ONE God, (but our ONE is better) and at the same time operate under a mindnumbing controversial rule: the Holy Books are at the same time an incontrovertible (ergo genuine) link to the teachings of the respective prophets AND fallacious documents created by men.
My point is that Jesus probably never said: "Go burn the witches and by the way massacre all natives who don't want to be proselytized and while you're at it throw in the Crusades for fun" and that Muhammed reciprocally never answered: "Well is that the best you can do? Go my faithful strapped with explosives to Jewish elementary schools and do your thingy, and please exterminate the wrong half of Sudan where the unbelevers nest".
People commit crimes. In whatever convenient name.
Have a nice day.
