Does anyone else have that problem? I could compile a new installer if that is the case - no problem.

Edit: something just crossed my mind, did you try this: How To Fix UAC and VirtualStore Problems, reason being that some files are getting replaced.

Tried it, and it's a no go

I'll be reformating my computer in a few days anyway, so if nobody else tests it by then, trying it with a totally new and fresh windows and total war reinstall should be a perfect test. Ill let you know.

Can't believe I forgot this in my last post, but yes, I have done all of that.

I also have Windows 64-bit as well.

Thanks for the feedback - I will be doing some testing myself.

Edit: Crap, something corrupted in the installer.

Edit2: Found the culprit - the XCF file was set to 'keep external' instead of 'do not install' - compiling the new installer now.

Edit3: tested installer, no problems. Appears slightly frozen at 80% due to the huge voice.dat file being installed.

Patches for Gig's "Easy and painfree Installation"

    1.4.4.002 - 11th August 2011
    - repeated 001 due to installer failure
    - all strat symbols needed replacement due to difference between TGA and DDS files
    1.4.4.001 - 08th August 2011
    - Fixed incorrect banner symbol for Dark Elves (Gigantus, Krystoforos)
    - Corrected 'wonky' sounds (The Holy Pilgrim)
See second post in about an hour, connection speed is lousy.

Edit: link is up in the second post.

Yeah, that mess was rather (insert adjective) of me. I was trying out the professional version of the installer and assumed 'keeping external' was pretty much the same as 'don't install'. Good to hear everything is OK now.

    Very Awesome G.

Installer worked first time no issues...
    Installed language installer: a-ok
    Update to patch 2: a-ok

Campaign working very nicely playing as Averland up to turn 5:

    2x minor skirmish- a.ok
1x large siege(5000+/-)- ran perfectly no issues

Got my first CTD when the orcs attack my capital, obviously the scripted part methinks caused the crash

They come in 2 stacks and it CTD's after the second stack attacks... with a "fatal graphical error and a string of gibberish (*well to me anyway ).

I have tried multiple things but ran out of time yesterday, the only thing i can think of is my Nvidia drivers are the new 280 release so im gonna roll back to day and edit the results here.

But any ideas would still be welcome.

If it would have been a scripting error that causes the crash you would have most likely have gotten no message other then the generic, if at all.
Your suspicion about a driver issue is most likely correct. You might want to take that issue to the technical forum, Irishron might have a solution.
The siege battle most likely ran nice and smooth as I have reduced all custom building textures in size. If you wish, you can also add my 'vanilla' reduced textures, best to install them in the main game's directory: Creating a World - Reduced City Textures

Click on my two signature parts, read through the articles, add a few of your own and help others to overcome problems. That about sums this up I think.

    Nada. Nichts.

Only that your battle took 4 minutes and 33 seconds:

12:51:34.716 [system.io] [info] open: found mods/Call_of_Warhammer/data/ui/units/venice/#Knights_Innercircle.tga (from: C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War)
12:56:07.011 [system.rpt] [error] Unspecified error. The game will now exit.

If you were an attacker in a siege battle and won and then something went wrong due the new settlement (or a now dead faction leader) then at least two lines of that would be in the log. My choicest case: a unique building in the settlement had an info pic saved in the wrong format (grey, indexed) before saved as TGA. Rather abrupt end of the game. Took two days to find the culprit.
If a script is supposed to fire after the battle, then at least that line would show. My bet is still on some hard ware issue.
Try the battle again to see if the error persists. Then auto resolve and see if it crashes again. If auto does the same without any lines in the log then I really don't know what the problem would be.

Edit: it was a siegebattle with the character Leitdorf, wasn't it? Did he die?

.....although here we call them i D10 t errors

    that's all you getting

But no everything seems to be working A-ok, got to about 30 turns and not one CTD, although i must point out not too much has happened in the way of scripted stuff ie battles etc

    so rosy for now.

I have played about 120 rounds with Kislev and haven't come across a single scripted battle. Guess I have to start with another faction now - I am just wiping the floor with all opponents, overkill is the norm (the undivided chaos guys were fun - now that's when a whooping isn't a shame)

But I haven't worked on the script at all - it's still the one that came with the original downloads. Can you give me any pointers what is supposed to happen?
