I am pretty sure if this website allows this discussion then SEGA will prosecute them. you are better off asking this question somewhere else or buy the game again.

Press the start key + r and type in regedit in the box that comes up.
In the window that comes up, go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/The Creative Assembly (if you have RTW Gold)/RomeTW
Your CD key should be displayed there.

As long as we dont give any piracy links or actualy cd keys there is no harm. If magics suggestion does not work you have to buy a new one.

first of all thanks for the info, but when I go on that regedit page after a number of clicks I reach Rome total war but the only folders that appear are folders called progress bars. AM I at the right place or did I click at the wrong spot?

Just click on Rome Total War (not progress bars; just click on the folder without clicking on anything else) then look at the stuff on the right. There will be a thing called "cdkey" with your own cd key next to it.
