@mystang89: Since you use "the bug fixes", removing the economy script will only barely reduce turn end times. Except adding money to AI factions that are in debt, it also reduces their treasury if "they have too much money". Over all, it's a game balancing attempt; myopinion, do not remove it if you have concerns about AI faction treasuries.

I actually use the bugfix download, just like mystang89. Perhaps that explains the marginal to un-noticeable gains in speed.

Since you are the creator of the G5 economy script, could you address the question that both mystang89 and I had? Namely, if your script does not actually give the AI more money than the vanilla version (though accounts seem to wildly differ, and I don't know whom to believe now except you), how in the world does the AI have so much many more army stacks running around? Or is this tied to a separate script that has to do with AI reinforcements?

It is tied to the economy overall, like building costs and construction times, unit recruitment frequencies and costs, revenue from taxes, trade and many other things; it is not something that depends only in few lines in one file. Speaking of the "bug fixes" and, in my opinion, the SS6.4 one too, the "Factions Economy script" plays a rather small role in this. Regarding the army stacks spam, those money scripts actually have a role of reducing it; when in debt, they give the AI only little boost (in the bug-fix we set the treasury to 101 florins, in SS6.4 they can be set up to about 500 florins) and they are freeze recruitment; also, when the AI has "too much money", they remove cash from its treasuries. The "AI reinforcements" (in both SS6.4 and bugfix compilation) play even lesser role, as the spawned armies are rather few and only in first turns. They also include some balancing measures; for example, the slave reinforcements balance the reduced random brigand spawns. If I wanted to reduce the army stacks spam, the descr_settlement_mechanics.xml is a more appropriate place to begin with; you may also need to script early in your effort for more complete control over the recruitment. Anyway, it won't be an easy work.
