Default [Proposal] Slowing the heck down...

    Hey guys

I have noticed that in this game we are tending to rush around like headless chickens. Sometimes this is a good thing, but mainly it is a bad thing. For example, and this is where it is mainly noticeable, bills are debated and put to vote within hours, leaving players not in that timezone without a chance to debate. This is particularly important (though important to all), to those carrying veto's.

Casing point - the recent Farm Bill. This was put through the senate's debate within seven hours, during a time when I, and possibly others, were asleep or meeting RL commitments. Thus, I was unable to (and intended to) use my veto, or indeed tell my opinion on the bill.

    So, I do propose this:

All bills must go at least 24 hours in the senate before being put to vote.

This is a simple way to ensure that most people will get their say on a bill.

    Cheers
    ulti

I support this, since it's not really fair and I think you should be able to veto the bill.
These fine gentlemen's have thanks to their consistent idiotic posts have earned their place on my ignore list: mrmouth, The Illusionist, motiv-8, mongrel, azoth, thorn777 and elfdude. If you want to join their honourable rank you just have to post idiotic posts and you will get there in no time.

Makes sense. I'll take full blame for this. I have been a bit too directly involved in that I think I'm the one who has to put up votes. In trying not to miss any I jumped the gun a bit.
