First off all civitates should be respectfull and polite, which doesn't mean that they have to act stiff though, if the civitate doesn't verbaly attack someone or bypasses the swearfilter to insult someone. Bypassing the swear filter is in my opinion not such a big offense, but a civitate should, more then others(cept for mods and admins) respect others who could very much mind being called a ***** or be told to **** off. Then again, if you aren't serious or just jokingly insulting someone I think the rules towards insults and swearing should be not as strict.
The responsabilities of a civitate are just somewhat bigger then a regular member. Ofcourse abiding by the rules is still neccesary but aditional duties should include helping mods steer topics in the right direction ("hey guys this is turning into a flame war,etc........")
Also every civitate should think his posts trough before ge clicks the post button. This doesn't mean that every post needs to be an intelectual or philosofical masterpiece though.
Oh and why would I want to be a civitate? Well, you see, it's one step closer to Admin status, and I just get all horny if I have power :laughing:

Solid has long been a good contributing member, was a civ before, but was purged. I asked him some time ago, and he turned me down, orginally because he decided against ever taking the rank after he was purged, and later because he felt he wasn't of civ quality. He accepted shortly before my recent... absence.
He is a good member as you can see from his posts, I hope he makes civ.
