    Default CTDs, any ideas?

I'm trying to write an AAR here, but Scipio and Canina keep getting Censuram Trucidens Diaboli. I can sort of fix it by retreating and then fighting the next battle, but these CTDs are pissing me off. Basically, what happens is that I get attacked while laying siege, I start up the battle, it lags really hard for about 10-20 seconds, then CTDs. Is there any way to fix this without having to replay the campaign?

Playing RS2.1a with BI exe on Windows 7.
    Exactly.

I think this is a known bug with reinforcing armies attacking a besieging army. You may need to auto-resolve and avoid the battle in some way. Check the tech threads, it definitely sounds familiar.

I have experienced this many of times.
It can be sometimes the vegetation, lower it sometimes that works.
Always save your battles and movements before and after.
Auto is a pain, but a quick help sometimes.
We are still working on these things and more.

Lower your video card settings and lower your settings ingame and see if that effects it.

It's not the reinforce CTD as the game CTDs in the middle of the battle not afterwards when the battle results are accepted.

Czone: it may be that your PC cannot handle the number of units in the battle. Also depending upon who attacks you (the relieving army or the settlment) you may have the settlement to slow down the performance. The solution may be to drop the 'eye candy' vegetation for the battle and see if you can fight it.

You've not supplied any details on your PC or the settings you use so that's the best I can do.

Also - moved to tech support part of the forum.

@Goromovnik: I deleted your post as it has nothing to do with the OPs problem and is, therefore, off-topic.

My PC has an Intel i7 950 CPU and Geforce 480 GTX GPU. It cannot really be a performance issue to be honest.
    Exactly.

The game is from 2004/2005 so most modern PCs won't perform as you think they will with the game. The game does not run on more than one core, the game does not use most of the features on modern graphic cards.
