Yeah this often happens with me too, but if you keep breaking the alliance when two factions go to war, then making the alliance again in quick succesion your own reputation will decrease! so you have to decide wether you want a few thousand florins, or to keep your reputation you have worked so hard for![]()
interesting, thanks for sharing this with us, but I won't use it, the AI is dumb enough![]()
Īnfrānt nu eşti atunci cānd sāngeri,
nici ochii cānd īn lacrimi ţi-s.
Adevăratele īnfrāngeri,
sunt renunţările la vis.
I am a high chivalry player at the start of all my campaigns, I like to use the generals to boost populations etc.
When I noticed my rep going down (from very reliable to mixed), I was making/breaking alliance with venice for some florins, they kept going to war with holy roman empire (my ally). Maybe the rep hit differs for different factions, depending on their relations, rep, pope points etc.
It may also of been because of other factors in the way I was playing my campaign, I cant really remember!
I have also been able to get settlements in this way, once france gave me angers and toulouse for an alliance when they went to war with my ally spain! But I stopped doing this, as it seemed a bit like cheating.
Not like reputation matters much. By turn 20 (if you're like me and try to restrain conquest) you're still to the point where you're invincible for the most part. It's just a matter of asserting the willpower.
