Default Converting ROP..which version do you want?

We're wondering to which version of RTW we should convert. The choises are simple: BI 1.6 or RTW 1.5. Please also tell the reason why you vote one or another thing, so we can discuss it.

BI 1.6, the reason is simple:

    - improved diplomacy and campaign map AI (naval invasions, etc)
    - improved battlefield AI
    - increased functionallity (hordes, emerging factions, etc = more stuff ROP team can do to add to the mod)

Plus, everyone who follows mods is a RTW fan and the majority already hae BI anyway. Not to mention that many other popular mods (RTR 7, among others) are going to be for BI as well, so there shouldn't be a problem of people not having BI (I'm sure a few don't, but still).

1.5 due to the easier conversion, basically the same bonuses as BI are possible and of course to the fact that not everyone has the expansion anyway

I'd say do it for 1.5. I don't have BI, and i don't really want to go out and pay money to get it just for a mod. Please stick with 1.5. Anyone that doesn't have BI will be happy, and those that do can just go back to the original RTW. There you have it.

I want better AI and Diplomacy,
If 1.5 and 1.6 are equal in this (I don't know) let it be 1.5, because not everyone really have BI.
    Regarding "Hordes" and swimming:
I don' see what faction could be horde in ROP, and I never play river battles because it is cheating.
So AI is the only thing that should serve as criterium.

I also never bothered to get B.I., so I was hoping for a 1.5 conversion. I'm really looking forward to this mod!

    1.6 pro's:
    religions
    hordes
    much better tweakable winconditions
    harvests.txt
    swimming troops

con's: you have to get BI for it, yep

to tack on to what spurius has said there are some real unique ideas floating around about using 1.6

id really like to see them tested out but i cant exactly say in case they wouldnt work.

BUT just believe me it would be awesome

Default Dunno? 1.5 or 1.6 BI

    IMO,

I like BI's addtnl stuff: night battles, hordes, etc.

BUT if this stuff can be imported to 1.5, Keep it at that!

Whichever one gives the most bang!

1.5. Bigger audience. Most of the features of 1.6. My two cents.

I'd say stay with 1.5 as 1.5 & 1.6 are vert the same, I have seen some of the things people are asking for in other mods, ie night battles are in other mods such as Terrae Expugnandae and SPQR, So I say stick with 1.5
I never play river battles because it is cheating.
Actualy some of the great battles in history are river battles

A great general would take any oppertunity to inflict huge losses to his enemy while sustaining minimal to his own... In the battle field there is no such thing as cheating... Only being smarter

    I agree.

It is smart to force enemy to accept battle on such a position.
But in game you just need to stay and stamp heroic victories, how does it called? Hinting or cheating.

I'm talking about the game, don't mix the reallity and its virtual represintations.

1.5, the ai in 1.6 and 1.5 are about equal, and you can implement most of the 1.6 features apart from hordes and swimming, and i can not see hording being of use to ROP, and swimming is nice, but i can live without it.
