    Default Villa Corbvlo

Welcome to the Villa Corbvlo of the Patrician Nvmerivs family. It is not the grandest villa nor the grandest family that dwells here. The Corbvlos have been low ranking members of the Senate and played minor roles in the consular armies.

Caivs Nvmerivs Corbvlo is a 39 yearold member of the Senate and rather new to the political game.

    Background
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

At the age of 10 Caivs's father died of illness leaving behind a son and two daughters. The children were given to a wealthier uncle who rased them as his own.

This kindness has given Caivs a fondness for all those in need of assistance. He is often on the sides of the Plebians on most issues although he considers himself aloof from them.

He marched with the army upon the gates of Messana recieving facing his first combat as a young officer.

Flavius walks up to the new senators house and looks around. While taking in his surroundings, his slave knocks upon the door. Flavius wonders what the newcomer will be like.

Caius opens the door to find a senator standing in front of him. He wonders what he wants.

    OOC: Separate from Celts OOC.
Spurius walks towards the door, crossing the bridge. As he walked he admired his surroundings. Quaint, he thought, but charming none the less. Spurius had made sure that his guards stayed outside the gates, stopping unknown from entering, yet generally staying out of the way of Spurius. Best they stay there he thought, while they have their uses they lack the manners required for such meetings, and as such would most likely end up embarrasing me.
Spurius knocks hard on the door, ensuring he is heard.

OOC: Just checking, our stuff is at different times correct? If so, ceaser, could ya address us, so there is no confusion. Thanks.

Flavius walked in through the door, thanking Caius on his kindness. Flavius addressed him directly:
Salve, dear senator. As you are new, I decided I would drop by and chit chat with you so we both will know more about each other. My I sit down?
Flavius said curtly, and waited for the new man's response

Spurius has already began walking in before invited, but nodded when he was asked. He ambles in, and looks around for a place to sit.
Ah, greetings Senator. Congratulations on making it into the senate. Apologies for being so forward but I need a man I can trust. Now all the other Senators have alliances in place, and probably also have alterior motives. That is why I have come to you. You are new and thus I can count on you to make the right decision. I need a senator to put forward a proposal, a motion that I hoped to be passed. Why don't I simply propose the motion myself you might ask. Well, for two reasons. Firstly, it feels like I am running the senate alone, with my co-consul in bed and the senators being uncharacteristictly quiet, I find myself taking the lead far too much in something that is a democracy. Secondly, one of the clauses sounds strange for a consul to inflict upon himself, as it requires extra time and attention on my part for no glory, so proposing it myself would cause suspicion.
Not only that, but I could use a few more allies in the snake pit that is the Senate, and what better way to gain allies than by visiting people individually?
    What say you senator?
    The motion is as follows:
Lex De Re Barbari Impetum Umbria Et Etruria
    I. The roman legion go north and defeat any organised raiders in the northern areas of Umbria and Etruria
II. The leading consul works to permanently prevent further raids on Italian territory from the celts.
Feel free to add your name to the motion if you wish.

    To Spurius

I would be honored to present this bill, however, the Senate may not accept it until will have more Mnai.

More mnai? The legions have been paid. Why would we need more Mnai? After all it is not a major enterprise to attack some raiders and attempt to pacify a region. It is just some pests that need to be handled before they get any nastier. In fact attacking the raiders would be profitable, as using the legion would cost no more than having them sitting on their arses all day doing nothing. With the abscence of raiders we will be able to gather more taxes from Umbria and Etruria.
