I know a lot of people on here won't like this movie, because they think it ruins sherlock holmes, but the first movie was great and this one doesn't look too bad either. What does everyone else think about it?

I loved the first Sherlock Holmes movie and this trailer looks awesome indeed. It looks much more action oriented however so I'm worried we will see less intrigue and conspiracy.

I loved the first one, but then again, i was never a Holmes enthusiast, so i never cared about the direction they took. So i adored it. Can't wait for this one as well!

I like this movie the buddy comedy between Watson and Holmes is great aswell as the inclusion of Stephen Fry, a steam punks wet dream of a movie in some ways.

The historical inaccuracies are annoying though and I dont like the mind meld Holmes and Moriarty share towards the end.

    - Big bertha sized guns accurate in 1890s?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    - Chemical artillery shells
    - Fully automatic pistol
    - Holmes motor carriage

    to list a few

The story was a mess. Moriaty's scheming made no ing sense. I mean bombing a guy to disguise shooting him... why was bombing him not enough? Why need a shooter at all? How did it even work to nearly cause a war because anarchists kill people? That happened. None though external threts were necessary. And war profiteering from factories scattered all over the belligerents sounds cuckoo. Let alone supplying _everyone_ from a German war factory.

I liked the characters but they went overboard witht the stunts and story.
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

I enjoyed it, but not NEARLY as much as the first one. Going straight to The Final Solution was a REALLY stupid move imo.

All things being equal, The Final Solution was Moriarty's first appearance in the books.

Just been rewatching this haha Stephen Fry is so good

"If the concerns of two nations... which shall remain nameless but I can tell you they speak French and German"

Also if Moriarty was just going to use normal explosives then what was the point of the end of Sherlock Holmes where he steals the radiowave device.

Tbh this movie sucked compared to the first one, because this one had no mystery and was not interesting since you know what was going on the whole time.
