Villa of the Tuccii

[The Stig]

Built by Cornelius Tuccius Metellus upon his arrival form Africa, this large house is made in the Punic style to remind the owner of his homeland. Later owners romanized much of the interior, but the outside is still mostly Punic. The walls are adorned with both Punic and Roman works of art. Currently home to Septimus Tuccius Nerva. It is often used to house visiting Tuccii.

Gaius Marius Aquila arrives to see the new Tuccius.

The newly arrived Septimus welcomed him in person.
"Welcome, who might you be?"

[Okmin]

"My name is Gaius Marius Aquila. Consul, at least for a few more days." Aquila sighs. "I knew Sextus well, you know. The Senate will regret his death, and Rome will mourn it."

[The Stig]

"Oh, your name is Marius? I'm supposed to invite you to his funeral. Sextus was my brother. He... will be missed."

[Okmin]

"You can be sure I will be there. Sextus would have done the same for me... This may not be the best time to ask, but I had invited your brother to a feast at my villa next month. Would you come in his place?"

[The Stig]

"Yes. It will be a good way to meet the other Senators."

[Okmin]

"I could tell you about the others, if you have any specific people to ask about."

[The Stig]

"That would help. There are several other people I need to invite to the funeral. Sextus did keep us informed, but he did not send a report for this year..."

OOC: Go ahead.

[Okmin]

"In that case I will go over the major 'players' in the Senate. There is Severus Vispanius Cincinnatus, who is not called Magnus for nothing. He is without a doubt the most powerful man in Rome; I am very glad he has the interests of the republic, not himself, at heart. Gaius Cornelius Scipio, former and future pro-consul of Hispania, either the most incompetent or unluckiest military commander in the history of Rome. He also seems to have a thing for my daughter. You should know Aulus Ovidius Priscus -- the one who accused Sextus of treason. I need say no more about him. They are the three most influential men. But I cannot consider any a friend. Decimus Cornelius Corva is my successor as pro-consul of Greece, and I could say there is no better man for the job. Between myself, him, and your brother, we were a moderately powerful and generally ignored group in the Senate."

Aquila laughs.

"And there are seven others, but I do not know them too well. Most are relatively new."

[The Stig]

"Based on my brother's reports we have determined that Severus is not a threat. He is merely a reality. The reports had not one good thing to say about Scipio. He was wishy-washy, a poor commander, and had an over active ego. Now Aulus, they said he was too concerned with the Republic's wealth to be a problem. Recent events prove otherwise. In addition, he reported that Gnaeus Claudius Tranquillus was quite competent. His only downfall was an interest in Africa. Sextus was impressed with the performance of Flavius Hispansis Drusus, who served with him in Spain."

[Okmin]

"Yes, they are both exceptional commanders, but unfortunately not so liked by the Senate. Also, I find it hard to believe that Aulus regrets Sextus' death for any reason other than the fact that he could not see him tried."

[The Stig]

"Rome has lain quiet for too long, Gaius. Hold on to your wits, because we're about to shake things up."

Gaius Scipio arrives to met the new Tuccii, it's a just a formal and kick visit since Scipio needs to head to Hispania.

Slave greet them both and bring them to a small courtyard.
"Welcome, can I get you anything?"

"Thank you for the offer but there is no need for such thing, I've just come to pay my respects to you,
As you may know my relation with your brother had had better days but he was still a great Roman and I respected him for that."

"Thank you for the kind words, Scipio."

"I hope nothing but that you serve Rome well, now if you allow me I must leave. The best to you and you family."
