Very annoying problem

Hi all, well I have this problem that has me pulling my hairs. Well today I managed to install a fresh copy of MTW2, patched it up and downloaded this great mod! Anyways the thing is that when I made changes in the preference file, like removing those green arrows ect, the changes reverted back. So I read that I need to go into properties and make sure the 'read-only' option is checked, so I did that and it worked, does not revert back, but I still get them green arrows, even tho I disabled them in the preference file. I made sure its set to '1' and not '0'. But I still see them green arrows. And another thing which is driving me crazy, the changes I make in the ingame and graphics option revert back to the way they were when I restart the game.

I haven't played this mod/game for a while, so maybe I am missing something, but if anyone has a solution, or tell me what I am doing wrong would be great.

Which .cfg file have you edited? Because there are two: that of BC and that of vanilla M2TW. Try to edit them both, save results and exit. Changes should be applied permanently (until you change them, that is ).

Thank you for the fast reply wudang, I just noticed that, had no idea there was another preference file LOL, Anyways it worked! no more green arrows under my guys feet, YAY!
