    Default CTDs during Teutonic Battles

    I reinstalled everything fresh and started a new TO campaign with MSC. Everything is fine, except I get CTDs during battles (Medieval II has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit). I restarted multiple crashing battles with different graphics settings, but still crashes on all of them, even with everything all the way down.

    EDIT: I did forget to add my kingdoms 1.5 patch when I reinstalled, so I am hopeful that is the only problem. I will post again here if that doesn't fix it.

    I'm still getting CTDs in battles, in the same kinds of situations and times, like in a siege battle. UAC was turned off for all installations, but would installing in an area besides Program Files help anyways?

    yes it will help, and make sure you run every exe with right click 'run as admin'

    Correct. Reinstalled multiple times actually. It does run slightly better after moving the sega folder out of program files. I'll just have to see if it keeps crashing.

    I still get CTDs when loading a sally from Gaza, loading the Fatamid assault on Gaza, and loading an assault on Jerusalem (all as TO).

    It is confusing me because I never had these kinds of repetitive CTDs before. I did unpack the Teutonic campaign packs before, but I have done three brand new installs from scratch, so I don't think that's it. I haven't played TO before on 6.4, so Idk if TO campaigns are full of bugs (I doubt it though). I even moved it out of Program Files (which I've never had to do before, never had any bugs like this) and I still get crashes.

    Ok, sorry about all this trouble I am having here. I am goping to try a brand new install again, but first tell me what else I might be forgetting. Should I be installing it all into Program Files or somewhere else? Should I diable UAC, remove the Medieval II security controls, or both? Do you think the problem is the MSC? (I hope not, I love MSC)

    Vespasian92,

    I would install MTW2, Kingdoms,patch 1.05, 6.3 and 6.4 outside of Program Files. Create a new folder in C Drive and keep that UAC disabled at all points of installation.

    I would also install DirectX9 if you already haven't, don't worry it does not overwrite DX10 or 11.

    To the best of my knowledge MSC does not cause this problem, although before installing check Meneth's thread for any fixes or set up suggestions

    Edit: Did you disable RR in SS Setup?

    No. I read through Meneth's topics and am aware that disabling RR/RC causes crashes. I am installing now and will see if anything changes for the better.

    I reinstalled everything, putting it into a new non-program files folder and keeping UAC off. It still crashes when trying to load certain siege battles (especially in the Middle East like Gaza, Jerusalem, Antioch). It crashed on me again when assualting Antioch. It can run siege battles at Konigsberg correctly without error, but nowhere else that I have tried.

    Edit: It can successfully generate and run an assult on Fatamid-held Gaza as CS. It can also successfully generate and run an assualt upon CS-held Jerusalem as Fatamids. Perhaps there is some incompatability in TO (or some TO units) and ME settlement models?

    MSC doesn't allow for custom battles. But all other field battles (even in the area) and siege battles at Konigsberg work correctly.

    Yes, Vanilla 6.4 successfully generated siege assaults on Constantinople (which also crashed the one time I tried it) as well as Antioch. I will keep playing but can only assume that there is a bug or incompatability with TO and MSC. CC, make sure Meneth sees this and is aware that there might be an issue.

    Edit: I strongly suggest/ask that Meneth's TO skins are used in the next SS release (They are significantly better in my opinion )
